"Miss Addie, I think it would be a lovely idea if you were to invite your family to have tea with you. I will go down to the kitchen to fetch more tea and snacks." Nishi proposed the idea while I was at a loss for what to do. I didn't know what to say or where to go from that point, so her suggestion was a literal life saver.
