บท 56: Seeing

I felt the fingers of Tamliz's left hand dig into my arm as her right hand reached up toward the hood of my cloak. She was about to rip the hood off of my head and see my face. I was still worried about what would happen to me if they saw me.

Boberre said that people would try to take me away from him. Was that because I was human? Or was it because of something else? Why was it that I needed to stay hidden? Aside from the fact that people like them wanted to see what I looked like for no apparent reason.

I barely had time to think about that, though. It didn't take long for the woman to yank back the cloth and expose my face and hair. I lowered my face, afraid for some reason, to even let them look at me. I definitely kept my eyes closed, that was something that I didn't think that they needed to see. Most people thought that my eyes were special, and that could get me in trouble with these wolves. I didn't want them to think that I was special in any way.
