"I WILL LET YOU GET AWAY WITH THIS, YOU DAMNED MONSTERS!" Takashi shouts, peaking over his cover after a lull in the enemy's fire and shooting his own weapon, managing to pop one of them in the skull.
Kohta was the one who was doing the most work, of course, using his bolt-action rifle to steadily whittle the enemies' numbers down. While they were lacking guns, this wasn't the case for their number of fighters... With each one downed, the next would pick up their weapon and continue where they left off.
"AGhk!" Takashi yelps as a bullet skim over his shoulder, removing some flesh and skin as he passes. "Why is it always me!?" he groans, quickly bandaging it up before continuing.
Fortunately for the outnumbered group, they had the assistance of Darth as well, the shadow hand attracting everyone's attention as it efficiently snaps the necks of anyone holding a weapon.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING!?"
"WHO CARES! JUST FUCKING RUUUN!" one guard shouts, fleeing in the face of the strange creature.
Chaos erupts in the enemies' ranks, some continuing to try and fight Takashi's group, some attempting to kill Darth(Unsuccessfully), while others just flee, heading down to the first floor and running away from the building entirely.
Most would be eaten by the remaining zombies in the area, while the others would slowly starve to death without any hope of survival. Not that any of that mattered to Takashi's group who were still in the midst of fighting.
"The guards are down, let's get in there and search the place!" Takashi shouts after seeing no one else appear at the windows.
The others nod, with Rei and Saeko charging at the doors first. They prey the wooden boards from it and kick it open, only to stop as they see an unexpected sight...
Michael was standing with crossed arm, foot firmly holding Shido to the floor. Takashi and the others arrive not long after, all of them unable to utter anything as they stumble onto the scene.
"Good news... I've got this prick. Bad news... Just about everything else in this shit hole." he says with a dour face despite the sarcasm in his tone.
Takashi and Rei feel their hearts drop, "What do you mean?"
...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Michael leads the group through the building while telekinetically carrying Shido, he'd also gagged the guy a minute or two ago as he wouldn't shut up, continually attempting to bribe, convince, and even blackmail him to his side.
The man didn't have any friends left however, as even the kind-hearted Shizuka wouldn't have a foot to stand on once she saw the shit in the basement.
Opening the door, the group are first hit by the stench, then, the wails of sorrow and crying women. Downstairs, the group are greeted by makeshift wooden cells which had many tied up women in them, each of the girls covered in bruises, wound, and other disgusting fluids.
Instantly though, Rei's eyes lock onto one of the worst-off women... "M-MOM!?" she almost screeches, running over to her. The woman had brown hair similar to Rei's, but she was covered in bruises and cuts, even had many of her teeth knocked out, making her speech slurred.
Tears stream down Rei's face as she hugs her mother, ignoring the disgusting fluids covering her. "H-how could they do this to you! M-mom! P-please tell me you're fine!"
The woman, Kiriko Miyamoto, hugs her daughter, "I'm phiine." she manages to get out, her throat hoarse from the abuse she'd taken.
"Don't worry mom, this will never happen again. EVER." Rei growls, kissing her mother on the cheek before standing and marching over to Shido. "YOU!"
"MMmph!"
*SMACK!*
Rei's fist collides with the man's face, knocking away the thin cloth that'd been gagging him. "I SWEAR I DIDN'T-"
*SMACK!*
"G-GET AWAY! I DIDN'T TOU-"
*SMACK!*
Rei continues to wail on Shido, unleashing all of her anger and indignation towards him with an uncountable number of punches. Even then, she didn't feel vindicated, having Michael drop the man to the ground so she could kick him instead.
The group looks on at this solemnly, not doing anything to stop her. Takashi changes his focus however, looking around in search of his mother... Thankfully or not, she wasn't here, meaning that there was a high likelihood of her being in the evac zone... The same evac zone that'd departed two hours ago...
Shaking his head, he walks over and places a hand on Rei's shoulder, "That's enough. Any more and he'll die."
Rei pauses with her leg hovering over Shido's battered crotch, "GOOD! I WANT HIM DEAD!"
*Ahem!*
Michael coughs into his fist, "If you'd like, I have a better option for him..." he states with an eager grin.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the morning the next day, the entire group was gathered atop a building that had a horde of zombies gathered underneath it. Specifically, they were all gathered around Shido, she was telekinetically floating above them while naked.
Michael glances to Rei, "Alright, flip a coin. Heads he goes higher, tails he goes lower."
Rei nods and flips it, landing on tails.
"HIIYYYY!?" Shido yelps as he's lowered towards the horde of zombies. "P-please! I NEVER MEANT ANY HARM! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! YOU CAN'T!"
Rei looks between her mother, who'd been dressed up warmly for this occasion, and Shido, "I think we can, Sensei." she remarks, flipping another coin. "Tails."
Shido's lowered again, allowing the zombies to reach up and claw at his feet and calves. He screams in agony as their rotten nails find purchase and scratch angry red lines into his flesh, one even gripping his big toe and bending the wrong way.
"Flip again Rei, I wonder how long he'd last." Michael casually says.
She nods, with the coin landing on heads this time. Shido raises out of the zombie's reach, allowing them to see the damage done to his legs.
"Oooh, that's gonna leave a mark." Michael jokes.
"STOP!"
"Oh, tails? Down you go Mr Shido." Michael laughs, lowering him again, further this time which allows the zombies to bite onto Shido's feet. They devour them quickly, all while Shido roars in agony.
This torture continues for quite some time surprisingly. Shido was even still alive with his lower half missing, the zombies having bitten off his genitals and legs. Once the man was dead though, Michael finished it with a Dragon Slave spell, killing all of the gathered zombies... It wasn't like he was going to miss the free EXP after all!

Things after the destruction of the Will of Humanity had been pretty tame. Shido's death had put a complete halt to some of the more half-baked indoctrination he'd been up to, along with anyone who held out hope for a potential resurgence.
That did leave Michael to pick up the pieces however, despite his original intentions, he'd ended up getting involved, so he was partly responsible for the people here... Thus, he had to give up some of his supplies to keep the survivors alive until they become self-sufficient...
Of course, he didn't part with anything he actually valued, simply handing over all of the pet food he'd stolen and nothing else. That'd keep them fed for a month or two, at least enough to recover from their ordeals.
Speaking of recovery, he'd also been called upon by Kiriko, Rei, and the rest of Takashi's group to 'Magic up a solution' to the more physically and emotionally damaged survivors. Those that'd been brutally maimed, crippled, had their tongues cut, fingers removed, etc.
Now, while he wasn't a psychologist, he could help them physically, via Cold Embrace. It also helped to show just where its limits started and ended. It could push a bullet from Takashi's chest, heal fingers, tongues, even those unfortunate guys who'd been castrated by those who'd ruled over them.
What it could not do, was heal full limbs like arms and legs, though... Michael wasn't sure if this was because their wounds had already scarred over and 'recovered', or if it was just a basic limitation of the spell. Could it heal full limbs if the spell was cast immediately after the injury? Or would he need to place the severed limb against the stump for something like that to work...
Unfortunately, he'd not find out anytime soon, as most of the douchebags in the region had either already been killed, or fled once Shido was executed.
Takashi's group had been 'alright' since the battle, they'd ended up missing the evacuation which may or may not has held some of their family, and no one really knew where the evacuation was going, so they were basically stuck in the city.
Their problems didn't end there however, as due to their actions of basically freeing everyone from Shido, they'd been unanimously elected as the leaders of the surviving group, with Takashi at the head of it all.
They'd tried the same with Michael of course, but he flatly rejected them, having no compunction to ditching them all then and there if they pressed the issue... Besides, he still had zombies to hunt, so he couldn't waste any more time babysitting than he already was.
Two days after the battle, the group was presented with an ultimatum. There were three options that they could choose from, but they could only really pick one.
The first was, to take the group and join up with Saya's parents at the Takagi estate, assimilating the groups together, relinquishing most of their control and hoping for the best.
The second is simply to pick up all of their shit and leave the city in hopes of finding where the Japanese military had set up. This was a hail mary, to be frank, as the radios were only giving out brief bits of information. The reason for this was obvious, the military feared that survivors may attempt to raid them for supplies and weapons. It was dangerous for them to simply invite everyone and anyone to their base of operations. Plus, anyone who'd survived thus far would either be fine on their own or so ruthless that this new world suited them.
Lastly, the third option was to simply set up shop somewhere in the city and attempt to make new lives for themselves. Set up walls, farms, etc. Everything you'd expect a medieval civilisation to have... It wasn't far off either, as the Nuke had destroyed most working electronics anyway.
Michael didn't have a horse in any race, to be honest, he was leaving soon enough and would probably not visit again anytime soon. Not unless he direly needed some EXP. But, even then, the zombies were giving increasingly low amounts of it, so he'd need to find a new world to farm it anyway.
"So, our great and luminous leader! What have you decided?" Michael sarcastically asks Takashi while he props his legs up on the nearby table and chews on a bag of crisps... They were sadly salt and vinegar, he couldn't find any prawn cocktail ones in Japan...
Takashi hums in thought, ignoring Michael for the moment. They weren't really friends, maybe just acquaintances, they were too different to truly find common ground between one another, especially Michael's casual disregard for their situation...
Instead, he glances around the room at the original members of his group. Saya, Saeko, Kohta, Rei, and their new addition, Kiriko, Rei's mother. Shizuka was absent, as she was looking after some of the more emotionally damaged folks. "I'd say we go to the Takagi estate but most of the people who'd lived under Shido don't trust them... I can't blame them either, after what they went through." he mutters, sending a guilty look to Kiriko, the fact that he hadn't killed Shido when he first saw him and when Rei requested it weighed on him heavily.
Saya leans back and crosses her arms, "It wouldn't be a good decision either. My parents plan to take back Japan by force, which means fighting every group that resists them to death. They are nationalists through and through, and won't care about what you've been through before sending you off to fight... They'll use the people here like cannon fodder." she harshly states.
"Well, we can't just go wandering in search for help. Michael-san helped get rid of most of the zombies in the area, but if we leave we'll have to fight constantly to get anywhere. It's not worth the risk... I say we stay here and wait for the military to do their jobs." Kohta adds from the side.
