Except for the ticking of the grandfather clock in the main hall that was just adjacent to the corridor they were in, there was no other sound. Even the servants of the manor had tacitly retreated and had not dared to take a step in the direction the intimidating man was in.

The unknown man's presence had rendered everyone cautious and curious and they wanted to know more about him. Even Elena, Gregory's sister and the lady of the manor was surprised to see the man who seemed to have the aura of dominance around him. It was impossible to ignore his presence and even more so when he was this concerned about Aylin.
