Leo woke up by a click and a bright flash of light in his eyes.
The facility lighting system had switched back to its daytime lighting mode.
Leo didn't have a good idea on what time it exactly was, back when he was a researcher the lighting system would be switched up every now and then in order to disorientate intelligent SCP's that are plotting on escaping.
Adam was sitting at his desk with a mug of coffee, so Leo at least guessed that it wouldn't be all too late.
When Adam saw that Leo was awake he pointed towards a plate of food that was in Leo's containment cell.
"Go eat something, your interview will start in one hour."
Leo walked towards the plate of food and picked it up before sitting down on his mattress.
He looked at the food with disgust.
There was some kind of grey paste with a couple of pieces of bread on the plate.
Leo didn't have to ask what it was since he already knew.
Most SCP's would get a nutritional paste since it was cheap and not all anomalies could eat everything.
Leo already knew this but still hoped that he would get something different.
The worst school lunches couldn't be compared to it, to say the least.
After a while, the intercoms sounded again.
"SCP-6840, your interview will start in ten minutes, final preparations are being made."
Adam was preparing a bunch of files and two extra guards entered the room.
Adam looked over his shoulder toward the guards and instantly started sweating.
He saluted the guards and went back to sorting some files, but this time in terror.
Leo took a peek towards the two guards and instantly realized why.
"You've got to be kidding me..."
He had only seen them once, but he instantly recognized them.
Mobile task force Alpha-1, the red right hand.
"Alright, commencing the interview," spoke Adam through the intercom.
"SCP-6840, today we will be questioning you about how you came to exist in this world, do you understand?"
Leo nodded.
"Let us start with our first question, do you remember your birth?"
Leo shook his head before speaking.
"No, to put it frankly I just popped into existence for as far as I remember."
Adam noted it down before continuing.
He took a look towards the A-1 guards asking for confirmation to ask his next question.
"After a while, you found yourself in a remote village in Alaska. now classified as SCP-6040-2, do you have any idea what happened there?"
Leo shook his head once again, but this time he only had a slight idea what happened.
"When the administrative department heard about what happened at the village they sent in another MTF unit to administer amnestics, however when they arrived at the village they went missing in action, upon further investigation with surveillance drones it turned out that the entire village was surrounded in some kind of mist, from the outside it was quite dense but it lessened on the inside. Upon later investigation, we found out that any organic material that touches the mist gets disintegrated. When the drones entered the village the residents were acting normal until they spotted the drones, a man stepped forward and some kind of shadow moved forward, destroying one of the drones. The second drone was taken out of the air by some kind of vine, after that encounter the village had been given the classification of SCP-6040-2."
Leo was utterly surprised upon hearing this.
"Sogrith, did you do this?" thought Leo.
[In order to prosper, one has to protect his resources.]
Leo sighed upon the response, but accepted it.
Adam pressed Leo once again.
"Surely you must know something at least, right?"
"I don't, can we move to our next subject? I don't feel like talking about this."
Adam eyed Leo's reaction for a while before noting something down once again.
"Alright, next question. How did you find yourself entering the group of interest known as Marshall, Carter, and Dark?"
"Well, after I left the village I got ambushed once again, I was tired and I could only kill one to defend myself before being captured."
