บท 2: Red Knight Legend

Living as Mordred, Kousuke isn't expecting this. He-no, she is a female now. Kousuke doesn't know how to react, seeing her gender has been changed. She doesn't really care about being female or male as long as she can be strong enough to be at the top.
Kousuke is trying to recall all her memories from her previous life about Fate, so she won't be at a disadvantage. First of all, she is 100% Mordred, as she remembers clearly Mordred's appearance. Second, her mother, aka Morgan le Fay, is a wicked witch, but she is acting like a real mother, which confused Kousuke. Third, almost 50% of Kousuke's past memories are gone, which is concerning, but seeing that she is a child with a small brain, she guesses that it was not worked on by her mother or someone else.
She is Mordred now. She needs to discard her past life and continue with her new life.
Mordred's life is pretty boring; she and her mother are isolated from the outside world. Morgan teaches Mordred the basics and language. Mordred's progress in studying is astounding as she quickly grasps all the subjects Morgan is teaching. Mordred is sometimes cautious about Morgan; she can be brainwashed by Morgan at any time, so she tries to avoid her, even though calling her mother is a pain in her heart. She can no longer remember her previous life's mother. She can only see a blurry face, and if she thinks about it too much, she will get some headaches.
When Mordred looks at Morgan's smile, sometimes a flashing image of her past life mother appears. Morgan's smile looks so genuine, but Mordred denies her own birth mother and convinces herself that Morgan is trying to brainwash her, but when she denies her own birth mother in this life, she feels that her heart broke... Because most of her memories of her past life are gone, she wants to feel her mother's warmth again.
Mordred tries to accept Morgan as her mother. She tries with all her heart to believe that Morgan is a good woman and that Morgan would not brainwash her. However, it takes a long time before Mordred finally accepts Morgan as her mother, but the story of how Mordred accepts Morgan is a story for another time.
Time has passed. Mordred has grown to be a tomboyish girl who loves swords and fighting, but her personality has changed. She is no longer an asshole who is selfish. She wants to be a hero... No, she wants to be a knight that saves the world. She knows it sounds childish, but she doesn't have many choices.
If she can't be a kind person, then she will try to save the world. That is Mordred's resolution. However, she isn't stupid to say she will defeat all the bad people on earth; she will join the Knights of the Round Table.
But there are problems...
She isn't a homunculus, meaning her growth is normal as a human. Wait, is this even a problem in the first place? But Mordred is supposed to join the Knights of the Round Table at this time.
She doesn't know how she is not a homunculus, but she guesses that Morgan makes her human rather than a homunculus. Not that she complains about being human, but knowing Fate's original story, she concludes that she is in an AU (alternate universe).
She assumed that the AU she was living in was not as bad as she had imagined. Good Morgan and being human; after all, who would complain about being Mordred right now?.... Well, except that you are isolated, but if you are okay with that, then cool.
But I guess life is unexpected... Arthur Pendragon and the Knights of the Round Table disappeared without any trace after the Black Dragon attacked Camelot. No one knows the true story behind their disappearance. The news is a shock to Mordred. Does the Black Dragon really exist?
Mordred was only 13 years old when she heard the news. Her mother seemed saddened when she heard the news. Mordred is confused about why Morgan looks sad but chooses not to ask about it.
A few years have passed. Morgan disappears, leaving Mordred in confusion and rage. Why did her mother leave her? Since she is only 15 years old, she decides to go on a journey to find an answer in her life.
Camelot has fallen, and Mordred has no goals in life as the Knight of the Round Table vanishes with King Arthur. Mordred lives her life by fighting in tournaments and earning a lot of money. She gains the titles "Demon King" and "Red Knight", but life isn't easy as trouble comes in her way, like when the nobles want to marry Mordred, but Mordred rejects them with a duel.
Mordred accepts her gender as female, which is different from the original Mordred, who refused that she was a female.
Mordred becomes famous throughout the continent with the title "Mordred the Red Knight"
However, catastrophe has struck the continent. The Black Dragon has gone mad and attacked everyone. Many kingdoms have fallen. The kingdoms tried to send many knights to slay the Black Dragon, but it was futile as the Black Dragon easily killed the knights.
The catastrophe caused a lot of suffering. This was known as "The Black End." Mordred thought that the Knights could defeat the Black Dragon, but seeing that the Knights have fallen, Mordred, who is already 18-years-old, decides that she alone will defeat the Black Dragon.
In the battle known as the "End of Hell," which lasts for 12 hours, Mordred and the Black Dragon fight each other to the death.

Clang!
The sound of metal clashing rang through the area. The area is a mess as there is a lot of destroyed terrain. Mordred is exhausted as she tried to deliver a slash again only to be blocked by the Black Dragon.
She is breathing heavily. She knows that she will die here, but she wants to take the Black Dragon with her. Her feelings are in chaos as she thought that this life was not what she wanted. She wanted to have friends.
Sweat flows through her face as she continues swinging her sword. Both of them are wounded as they continue fighting each other. There is no clear winner.
In Mordred's heart, there is something awakened inside her. Her sword suddenly glows. This is her final attack... her suicide attack as she pours all her mana on the sword.
"Gaaahhhh!!!!!!!!"
Mordred swings her sword at the dragon's head with all her might, and the Black Dragon also delivers its attack on Mordred.
Swish!
The Dragon's head was cut in half however the Black Dragon managed to give her a wound in her abdomen. Mordred is bleeding, there is no way Mordred will survive the blood loss.
Mordred is standing while staring at the dark sky. She finally did it but at what cost? She isn't satisfied with her life.
She heard a stepping sound and turned around to see someone familiar; it was her mother, Morgan.
Morgan: "My daughter..."
Morgan bitterly smiles as she watches Mordred's pitiful state. Mordred let go of her sword. Her hands tried to reach Morgan.
Mordred: "M-Mother..."
Mordred's tired eyes stare at Morgan's eyes. Morgan embraces Mordred. She felt warmth from her mother's embrace. She cried as she apologized to her mother.
Mordred: "I'm sorry... I'm sorry for being a bad daughter."
Morgan pats Mordred's blonde, messy hair; she comforts her daughter.
Morgan: "That's okay, I'm sorry for leaving you alone... don't cry, mommy is here."
Mordred slowly closes her eyes. She smiles at her last moment.
Mordred: "I love you, mother."
This is the first time Mordred ever said "I love you" to her mother. Morgan seemed a bit surprised but smiled. Mordred finally closed her eyes and stopped breathing.
Morgan: "I love you too, my daughter... sleep well, sweetheart."
She kisses Mordred's forehead. Morgan then heard the voice of a man behind her back.
"I see, this is my daughter... I'm proud of her for slaying the Black Dragon. "
Arthur Pendragon smiled as he stared at Mordred. Morgan stands up and carefully lays Mordred's body on the ground; the sword is on her side.
Arthur takes Morgan's hand.
Arthur: "Let's go home."
Morgan smiled. They both leave Mordred as they disappear into thin air. The sky becomes bright and clear as if the sky celebrates the new beginning for all humans.
This is the end of Mordred. In the Red Knight legend, she is the savior of humanity. She tends to be arrogant, but that is her special trait. She saves the world, and that is all that matters, but is Mordred ultimately satisfied with her life?
No one knows except Mordred herself. The truth that she saves the world without living a satisfying life will never be revealed.
Her body and sword were never found in the battle area. Only a rose flower and a dragon dead body could be found as if Mordred never existed in the first place.

Kousuke or Mordred floating in the black abyss again, she remembers this place as this is her worse nightmare. Suddenly, she heard a voice.
"Your second chance is unexpected, but seeing that you aren't satisfied with your second, I will give you the last chance to be satisfied with your life for the reward of saving the world."
Mordred can't speak, as she can only listen to the voice.
"Mordred Pendragon, be happy with your third chance."
Light engulfed Mordred again. Mordred felt different from the last time she had. She felt the warmth again, but this time she was not going to be reborn, but to be awakened.
"The Legendary Red Knight. Once, was the savior of the world and the only one who wielded the legendary Fortis sword. Rise from the dark void and heed my call, MORDRED!"
Mordred was taken aback as she heard a male voice, but she began to smirk.
This time, a new journey began for her... A journey that she will thoroughly enjoy it.

[Mordred Outfit]
Different from the original Mordred, Kousuke prefers not to use heavy armor as it's uncomfortable. Her outfit looks similar to a military uniform but in reality, Kousuke copy Oda Nobunaga's outfit. The reason why is to remember her first origin (Japan).
[Mordred Sword]
Mordred Sword name is Fortis Sword. The sword was created with unknown strong ore and can absorb the monster's mana.
(A/N: Arthur and Morgan don't love each other as lovers. I know! I have a headache thinking about this stuff. Even though Morgan is pregnant with Arthur's seed, Mordred doesn't have any gene disorders... You could say it's because MAGIC!)
