Life and death flow together in the world for all to see. Much like the sun that breathes life into the light of day, the moon, its polar opposite, creates a dank place within the realm of darkness for decay and destruction to take hold and grow.

Evolution requires transformation. There can't be progress without change. A fact Mercy has come to realize fully.

The truth of Ambrose's words eats away at her soul.

A seed - his seed - grows within her and that truth she can't deny. If she remains in her time, both Ambrose and the child inside her will perish. The time Sith made that much perfectly clear.

Can she trust what the creature says to be the spoken truth? Should she?

Movement catches her attention, and she shifts her gaze from Ambrose to the shadows seeping out of the darkness of the castle wall. The menacing marks snake and twist across the cobblestone path in front of her feet.
