Ling Tian opened the system storage and found out the three items inside it. The Divine Core was a small triangular shaped translucent bead glowing with peculiar purple-black colour light, whereas the God bestowed Spirit Ring was a pearl like object.
Finally there was also a pouch of 50,000 gold coins.
After seeing these objects he could barely contain his impulse to roar towards the sky in excitement.
He inhaled a deep breath and finally calmed down a little. He retrieved the Divine Core and started inspecting it carefully.
' System, how should i use this Divine Core of Anubis? '
[ This is the core of Anubis the God of Dead. You will gain his inheritance, if you assimilate this Divine Core....
The God of Death has the ability to manipulate any form of energy, teleportation across great distances and dimensions, augmentation of physical attributes and granting supernatural powers to living beings or inanimate objects. ]
" Oh....so this is the Egyptian God Anubis we are talking about here. " Ling Tian muttered after understanding, " Alright then begin assimilation. "
Then the triangular core entered inside his body and in the next moment he shuddered. His body started emitting the same peculiar purple-black energy and a terrifying energy erupted inside his body.
This sudden energy outburst, engulfed his whole body and washed over his skin, bone, blood and every muscle fibres in his body.
Ling Tian felt like his whole body was being melted down from inside. This type of extreme pain maid him cry in pain. He wanted to lose consciousness but couldn't.
Approximately after half an hour suddenly a wicked jackal like howl escaped from his mouth and he finally fainted on the spot.
Due to some unknown reason, every living being of Douluo Continent, whether human or beast could telepathically hear this jackal howl.
Soon the entire sky of Douluo Continent was engulfed with darkness, which swallowed the bright moon and stars.
The whole world had fallen into utter darkness. It was so dark that nobody could see their surrounding. This phenomenon frightened all the living beings including the strong Spirit Masters.
This phenomenon only lasted a few seconds as everything returned to normal. At the same time, the howl of jackal died down as well and disappeared from the ear of the people. Although this event was very brief, it was still enough to send shivers down anyone's spine.

Soon the voice faded away and Bibi Dong opened her eyes. Her frown deepened as she muttered herself, " Hmm..this is the first time the Rakshasa God has communicated with me. But who is this successor of God of Dead, am i supposed to find??? "

The next morning, Ling Tian slowly gained his consciousness. But upon closer inspection, the first thing he noticed was the slimy black liquid all over his skin which was emitting a foul smell.
The rotten stench was unbearable to him, thus he directly stoop up and went to wash his body.
After cleaning his body, Ling Tian wore a new set of clothes and walked over to the copper mirror to take look at his new body. He was surprised to see his hair which changed from previous black colour to purple-black and his eyes also changed to blue colour.
His malnourished body was now healthy looking and his somewhat tanned skin also changed into fair white.
In one sentence his already handsome appearance had been upgraded after the core assimilation. After he finished admiring his looks, he turned his attention to the system storage.
Currently only the pouch of gold coins and the God bestowed Spirit Ring remained.
' System, show my status. '

Status: The stats of current bodily attributes and abilities of host.
Help: System will give the necessary advice or information to the host when needed.
Storage: Can store all living or non-living objects inside the storage dimension. ]
Ling Tian nodded in satisfaction after hearing the uses of all functions, especially storage function. After experimenting for a while he remembered that today was the day of awakening ceremony.
So he locked his house and headed in the direction of Spirit Hall branch, which was located to southern end of the village.

In the southern part of Redwood Village, stood a small building. It was the Spirit Hall branch, where the awakening ceremony would take place.
When he arrived at the branch building, a lot of people were already gathered there. Children with their parents were eagerly waiting for the arrival of the Spirit Master.
Among the crowd, two of them were particularly eye catching. One was the middle aged man who was supposed to be the village chief of Redwood Village.
No one among the crowd was daring enough to disturb him.
