The principle behind Luffy's Armament Haki was very simple!

By modifying the armor spell 2.0 to a hexagonal grid, Luffy was not only able to turn the covered part black but he also accidentally solved a slight inconvenience with armor spell 2.0!
Armor spell 3.0 is not only thinner than armor spell 2.0 but it also provides more defense and power up.
The original armor spell creates a thin layer of armor surrounding the user's body, armor spell 2.0 creates a thick layer of armor surrounding the user's body, and armor spell 3.0 creates a thin armor that is thinner than the human skin.
If the original armor spell is compared to putting on an extra layer of clothes then armor spell 2.0 is like wearing medieval armor and armor spell 3.0 is like having a layer lotion on the user's skin.
"Shit, no matter how much I try, I just can't cast frost bolt, what do I do?"

"Congratulation everyone, you have all now graduated! Now come with me and let show those graphorns who boss!" Luffy waved his hand and led the excited group of players down the mountains.
