บท 71: Chapter 71 - The god of... Everything?

"I guess this is it," Ryu spoke with an equal mix of nervousness and excitement as he stood at the highest point of the Giants Fingers in Jotunheim, otherwise known as the tallest peak in the Nine Realms. While in his experiments he could adjust the divinity he wanted for each Shinobi he conjured, he knew it wasn't the optimal route.

Divinity suited itself to its owner, examining his traits before coming to fruition. Meaning Ryu could artificially give himself whatever divinity he wanted, but it wouldn't be suited for him. Sure, he'd be able to use it, but it wouldn't be optimal for him.

Of course, he could transform himself to suit whatever divinity he wanted to, but he didn't want to do that. Divinity didn't examine only the physical aspects but also the mental ones. If he tried to transform himself to be fit for another divinity, he'd also have to change his mind. Something he wasn't going to do.

Taking one last breath of anticipation, Ryu transformed his body to contain raw divinity, waiting to see what it'd turn into.

It was a feeling Ryu couldn't describe. It felt as if every single molecule of his body and mind was being disassembled and reassembled hundreds of times a second, but it wasn't painful. Instead, it made him feel... Whole? Like countless hidden parts of him suddenly came to the surface. He felt as if he truly knew himself. But Ryu noticed something weird. His divinity was still in its raw form. No, that's not right. It changed into something even more primal.

A divinity that contained everything within it, without leaning into one section. If things like strength, wisdom, magic, life, creation, destruction, and so forth were branches of divinity, then Ryu's was the whole tree. But why did it manifest in Ryu? Well, when the divinity manifested itself, it gave him the answer.

Ryu's profession as a blacksmith honed his creativity, his main Jutsu was one focused on transforming and re-shaping reality itself. Not emphasizing creation or destruction, but a mix of both. During his training with the dwarfs, he understood the "nature of things", and even managed to briefly touch concepts. Things to which war, beauty, death, and so forth belonged. He even understood several of them completely due to the memories he gained from gods. As such, the only divinity that was a match for him was one that encompassed all of those things.

But although Ryu's divinity was simply unfathomable in terms of potential, he was still but a young god. He had experience in dealing with various divinities from the memories of Odin, Thor, and Kratos, but that didn't help him here since the nature of his divinity was so different.

And while Rikai would certainly be a useful tool, it wouldn't give him the solution he wanted either since his divinity had literally infinite uses. Ryu could use the information to come up with ways to utilize his power, but the dry info that Rikai gave him wasn't going to be his saving grace this time.

There was no cheat sheet here, he'd need to figure this out on his own.

But now that he became a god, his time in this universe has come to an end. While the Nine Realms weren't in an ideal situation, now that the reformed Asgard was up and running, Thor would be able to change things for the better. And Ryu himself learned all he needed from this universe. It was time to move forward and continue to explore!

Opening a tear to the space between universes Ryu took one last look at the frozen landscape around him before jumping in

---

As a ripple in space-time opened on a lone road in the middle of the night, Ryu stepped into a new universe. Ryu looked at the new environment curiously, as something felt... Off.

Ryu looked around at his surroundings which could only be described as the slums of the slums. Though Ryu could see tall buildings that looked similar to those in his old universe, the area around Ryu didn't have a single sturdy house. Just a bunch of wooden planks that looked like a mild breeze could bring them crashing down down.

The people around him bearly wore anything, just some worn-out rags. Their bodies were full of wounds, and their feet were scarred from walking barefoot on the harsh ground. Some of the people wore hollow expressions, and some laughed sadistically as they struck and killed each other in the middle of the street.

But that wasn't what made Ryu feel off. In such an environment, it was obvious that the part of his divinity that encompassed death would be exited, but why did the side that contained life react so strongly? And to the freshly made corpses at that? 'Just what is this place?' Ryu thought as he activated Miru and Rikai to analyze his surroundings.

'I'm... In an afterlife?' Ryu thought as information regarding his current surroundings flooded into his brain. The people around him were the souls of the dead, and apparently, they reincarnated when they died in the afterlife. 'Why doesn't everyone just kill themselves here? Don't they prefer to return to the world of the living over staying in this run-down place?' Ryu wondered. Maybe it had a mechanic that prevented suicides? Ryu wasn't curious enough to find out.

But there was something else that caught Ryu's attention. When Ryu used Miru to analyze his surroundings, he caught something far off in the distance, where the buildings looked nice. It was a sword... Made from souls. A blade whose abilities were custom-made for the wielder, and with practically infinite possibilities for which ability the sword will end up with. Ryu needed to find out more.

Ryu spread out Miru and Rikai once again as he located the weird sword. He channeled enormous amounts of Chakra into his Rikai to learn more about the sword, with his goal being eventually uncovering how it was made, and with what techniques.
