“What? No! I need to go to Zen.”

Ghurva narrowed his eyes. “Zenon needs to do his job. He’s the captain. If anyone can fly us out of danger, it’s him, but we can’t be there to distract him. The clinic has a separate lock system from the rest of the ship. It’s the safest place to be.”

The clinic, as they called it, was in the middle of the ship. Carlo didn’t know if he wanted to be in the middle of the ship if they were to get invaded by pirates. Could they be invaded by pirates? How would they get on board?

“The women.” Grace crossed her arms over her chest. “We’re bringing them to the clinic.”

Ghurva looked as if he wanted to object, but Carlo nodded. His vision cleared, his lungs allowing more air to get in. “Yes, let’s bring them to the clinic. We’ll activate the lock and tell them to stay there. Then we’ll go somewhere else.”

“No.” Ghurva shook his head. “Zenon said to keep you safe, the two of you.”
