Shortly prior to the arrival of the actual snowmelt, the weather eased enough so we were able to check on the Tillers. Andre and his family had wintered well. Little Joseph had grown beyond our expectations, and would soon reach his first birthday. James was already puzzling over what to get the baby as a proper present. Although he was doing little more than sitting up unaided, my lover saw immense potential in the child. As for me, I was merely pleased my namesake was a happy infant.
From the flush of Bella’s complexion, I suspected there would be a new addition to the family, although Andre’s attitude indicated he did not yet suspect.
