“Something strange happened today.”
Gage and Flynn simultaneously focused their attention on Calian. “What?”
“You both know that as a necromancer, I’m supposed to restore the balance.”
“Yeah,” Flynn said. “By the way, do you want more sushi? There are still plenty of them.”
Calian suppressed his amusement and quietly passed his empty plate to Flynn. Flynn was being gallant, thoughtful, and caring, but that serious expression on his face was hilarious sometimes. Then Flynn snatched Gage’s plate off the table and gave him more sushi, as well. Calian wasn’t surprised when Gage began to fill up everyone’s teacup with more tea. Gage was a helpful and kind person, but he wasn’t the type to be aware of a little thing like that. He was most likely doing it automatically because he noticed Flynn distributing the sushi. Calian was once again tickled by how childish Gage’s and Flynn’s competitive nature could be.
