Cisco intimated that good china, sterling and stemware, would be purchased if their contract was renewed at the end of its term.
They proceeded on to Wegmans and checked out with three grocery carts. Every time Greg asked Cisco if he had an item in stock, he said no. It seemed that the only things he kept in the house were beer, soda, instant coffee, cream and chips. In the process Greg learned that Cisco would eat most anything in moderation. He had a sweet tooth and loved rice pudding with cinnamon and real whipped cream.
“I have a recipe from a Spanish cookbook that makes a rice pudding that is creamy, yet full of rice and vanilla. I’ll prepare some for you early this week,” Greg told him.
“I knew you would be worth your weight in gold,” Cisco replied.
Greg smiled. It was the first compliment that Cisco paid him.
It took over two hours to put all of their purchases away. By the time they were finished, it was eight o’clock.
