“All right. And please let Mark and Joe know how happy we are at how well everything worked out.”
“I will, Mother. Good—”
“Hold on, Quinn.” Mark waggled his fingers.
“Just a second, Mother. Mark wants to talk to you.” I handed him the phone.
“Portia?” He spoke softly for a few minutes, then said, “Okay, we’ll see you later.” He hung up and handed me the phone, and I put it away.
“What was that about?”
“Touching all the bases. I gave Portia the code to get into the house. I don’t know why Novotny was so surprised. It’s not like I’d want the door to explode in your mother’s face. Now him…”
I couldn’t help laughing. “Thank you, Mark. I’m sure we all appreciate it.”
“Mr. Vincent?” Howard leaned forward. “Maybe we should head directly to the Learjet instead of turning in the SUV first? I don’t think we want the rental place to know we were driving around with three babies without car seats.”
