That way I can be sure they haven’t taken you as a hostage to use as leverage against me or try to hurt you while I’m in the middle of the battle. If they take you, I would be too worried about you to concentrate on the fight and might lose. That almost happened to Armand. If they hurt you, I’d lose my mind.
