บท 46: SMALL INCIDENT CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER!

The two pairs of feet landed lightly on the grass-clad ground at a fast speed. A man was on a chase of them with a stick in his hand. He was yelling and cursing at them in anger. He pushed himself hard, but age was the obstacle.

The middle-aged man couldn't catch up with the strength of youth. After some distance, his legs burned in pain, and his chest swelled up in need of air. He stood at his place, hunching forward, gasping desperately for air. But his anger was still evident.

He watched the two people running away before disappearing behind the trees. All that was left behind for him were his bald trees and the blanket of stones under them.

Gerald was running ahead, holding some oranges in his one hand while his other hand was busy dragging Theodora with him. Once far away from the owner of those trees, he heard the ringing sound of laughter that revived his whole body.
