บท 55: Directions

Walking outside, Gin saw people wearing embarrassed expressions on their faces. Some instructors are even bringing some newbies from the infirmary as they collapsed on the floor inside. He even saw how wet their pants are.

Gin stayed silently through the events as he also had his problem. It was his eyes being exposed.

It was all right being exposed but it would be okay to do it in the late stages. On the other hand, if he didn't do it, he would be having the same thing as those newbies he keeps seeing.

'It's ok... nobody saw it, right? Yes, nobody... I'll just have to go to the place and eat, rest, then sleep after. Yeah, that's good.' Gin said inwardly, reassuring himself as he walked towards some pathway

After he had walked for quite some time, Gin noticed that his surroundings were quiet and saw that he was alone in some hallway.

Gin was trying to look for the archer class that he had to attend as his job is an archer. He leisurely walks for more, finding where the class is after Nancy, who replaced the woman, explained everything about them.

"..."

At the moment he realized that he couldn't find where the class is, Gin let out a sigh from his mouth and thought that he was lost.

Remembering the woman who explained the stadium to them in a detailed and understandable way, Gin and others were glad that somebody has been finally chosen for the job.

Time quickly passed and everybody listened about the important things and the purpose of the stadium.

First, the stadium would be active for a month and when that month passes, the place would close naturally. But at that very month, everyone will be training using their best with the instructors teaching them everything they needed to learn. The choosing of classes was all free and they could choose whatever they wanted, as it was all available inside. That was the first purpose of the stadium.

The second one, which is actually not a true purpose but only made up concept by the people living here, was being accepted by the guild or accepting the guild by their own choice.

After the training for a month, the guild would ask the newbies to join theirs if they have shown good results. Of course, everyone could decline if they didn't want the guild that offered them and instead, join the guild they wanted.

If the guild also wanted that said newbie, then with a bit of arrangement and agreements, they are in.

In spite of that two neither happened, they would have to try again but they needed to do that when they were finally outside the stadium. But if they were not chosen, they would have to find ways for them to live.

Hearing those words, the newbies who experience the surprise, started to show determined faces. They knew what she meant by those words that this month was the only time for them that was good for joining a guild, as they're fresh and new.

Information was still being discussed but they knew that the things speaker, Nancy, discussed earlier were the most important things announced.

Thus, after the long discussion, the newbies began to ask about the direction which would lead to the class they wanted. It was then Nancy called someone, who ask where the archery class is.

Nancy said so many things to that person that it became confusing, which is what leads to Gin's current situation.

Still walking from who knows when, Gin was still lost with his irritation gradually increasing each second. He knew his time was being wasted by this flaw of him.

Gin was tempted to use his eyes just to get out of the place, but he soon stopped upon seeing a large board in his line of sight.

Curious about it, Gin deiced to go to see the board and was happy that he did. It was a map of the classes available in the whole stadium, something that he needed right now.

'Sweet.'

Gin smiled before he proceed to stare at the large board, looking at the class he wanted to attend. After some time, he found the archery class that is placed at the outermost part of the stadium, but there is still one thing that he couldn't find on the map.

"No soul class?" Gin spoke in a low voice before he continued inwardly, 'Is it really that rare or is there some reason behind it?'

He quickly disregard it on his mind and decided to learn it by himself if there was really nothing or no one that could teach him about it.

As Gin curiously look for the other class that might pique his interest, he heard a familiar feminine voice on his back which made him slightly surprised.

"Oh, what a coincidence, Gin. You're here? What are you..." Kisha couldn't continue as she saw a large board on the side that Gin was currently looking at.

Gin was slightly shaken as he turned around. He quickly moved his wits and use his eyes to see if they were alone in the place.

Gin let out a relief seeing that they were alone before saying, "Hey, even if we are alone, don't just say my name out loud as if we were buddies."

"Oh, sorry." Kisha apologized with a smile before remembering a thought that she should tell if she ever found him.

She was also in relief after seeing that it was a map on the way, as she also needs something that could take her to a class that she needed to attend.

"Gin, is there a way to change your plan?" Kisha asked calmly, "Grey was getting more depressed and Jasmin was worse even if the two didn't show it. Laura and Jia were also annoyed by it even though they tried to hide it. Well, Nash was still the same. I couldn't figure out what expression he had when we were talking."

"Just be patient. It's not like we're not going to talk forever. Didn't we just spend time three days ago?" Gin answered questionably, 'What's wrong with those guys?'

"Hmm, are you not feeling lonely about it?" Kisha asked with concern.

"I am indeed lonely but I'm not sad." Gin flatly answered as he continued inwardly, 'I'm really happy about this Kisha so don't ruin it.'

"Is it really necessary?" Kisha asked another.

'Why does this woman have many questions?' Gin mused inwardly before he answered, "It is. I'm not only doing this for all of you but also for myself. Who knows what they have already been doing but I could guess that they already send some people to watch and are now finding the archer they fought with."

"I see..." Kisha spoke in a low voice as she bowed her head.

Seeing her acting like this was unbelievable for Gin but at the spot, he thought of a great idea that would benefit him in the future if followed.

'Oh. Let's try it. It's Kisha that I'm talking to so she'll understand.'

After he thought of the words that he should tell, Gin faces himself on the board again and looked at it.

"Actually, when we fought the two, I felt slight fear from them. Just one look, no matter how we do well after we cleared the tutorial, you could tell that they're strong. They were so strong that even if we cut one arm, the other was still there to assist. That's what we did at the two, right?"

"..."

"And the result of that was this. It was because I'm not strong enough to protect you guys that we have to resort to hiding."

Saying those words in the most painful way he could do, Kisha slowly raised her head up to look at Gin. She really felt how pained his voice is.

As he said those words that only Kisha could hear, Gin glanced his eyes at the side and saw her listening to him.

'Yes, listen carefully, Kisha.'

"Maybe after this training, I'm still weak compared to those guys but I promise to get stronger."

'Listen carefully so that you could tell this to others.'

"So, be stronger too, ok? Be stronger that even knowing your names would make everyone shiver in fear," Gin spoke as he moved his head towards Kisha, "Not only you could protect me by doing it but we could also stop doing the hiding. Just like now."

'I don't know what would happen in the future but I'll figure it all out one by one. if the first one was really that shit, then I'll have to just turn it into not shit. To do that, I need you guys to do the same thing like me.'

"..."

Kisha was left in silence but her face slowly brightened up, even though it was slightly visible on her face. Even so, she had a look on her face that she had finally found an answer to a very hard math problem.

'What he just said is... true. Why didn't I think of that? Although that's what I was currently doing, I should have thought it was just that simple solution,' Kisha mused inwardly as he slightly formed a faint smile.

Gin does the same smile after seeing Kisha doing it, 'Hehehe, go genius mage! Be strong. I know Nash picked you because you're like that.'

"Ah, right. Which class will you attend, Kisha?" Gin quickly run his mouth, switching the topic swiftly for her to not think deeper about it.

"Huh? Oh... yeah? Ah! Class. I will be picking classes that are suitable for me, of course," Kisha happily spoke as she looked at the board with still the same faint smile.

Looking at the board in silence for a few seconds, Gin finally speak as she saw Kisha was struggling, "What class are you attending? Let me help you."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I already find what I needed to attend. Tell me."

"Ah sure. Uhm…" Kisha paused before she continued, "Nancy mentioned two classes earlier that pique my interest. I think I could go for spell class and magic class for now."

Gin started to find the classes she wanted on the map. The two suddenly let out a laugh seeing that the magic class was just near the achery class, but the spell class was in a different place as it was at the opposite place of the two. It was really far.

"Which class are you attending first?" Gin asked.

"Isn't it obvious?" Kisha spoke without a care of the world as she hold her chin, 'I'm attending the magic class."

'Obvious?'

Hearing a strange answer, Gin moved his face to look at Kisha, who froze at the spot as she felt Gin staring at her, slowly understanding the mistake she had done.

Kisha became nervous which is unlikely her before she turned her face towards Gin, and looked at him with a calm face.

"Have you ever heard a girl's thing, Gin? If you do, it is the same as now." Kisha answered in a serious and calm way, "I can't tell it to you because you know... it's only for girls."

"Erm, Sure..." Gin answered before he mused, 'I never heard such thing in my life. Hmm, maybe it was really meant for girls as I didn't know it in the first place.'

Since they finally found what they wanted, Gin turned around and called, "Kisha, let's go."

"..."

No response was heard making Gin turn around once more, only to see Kisha was still on the board, looking at it.

"Wait, let me see this first. I'm a bit bad... no, I'm bad at directions, you see." Kisha shyly spoke her flaw as she scratches her head, while entirely focusing her attention on the board, seemingly memorizing everything on it.

"Eh?"

"What?" Kisha said after hearing Gin letting out a shocked voice from his mouth.

"Nothing. Well, since you're not good with direction, how about we accompany each other?" Gin suggested in a calm tone, though he was surprised there at the moment, 'We're the same, huh. I'm also bad at directions...'

Just finishing memorizing the map, Kisha turned his body towards Gin and smiled, "Then please."

The two walked to walk together but at a distance that could make everyone less suspicious. As they walk, they happily talked with each other while also on the lookout for their surroundings.

Nevertheless, the talk was merry and cheerful.

It was fun.

"Goodbye."

"You too."

Gin bid farewell to Kisha, seeing that the class was now in front of her. She entered the magic class before Gin proceed to walk to his designated class.

Moving with an untroubled expression, Gin saw that the place was empty. It meant was that there are no people present from the outside.

Gin used this chance to look at every room he passed by. He saw that the inside was made of wood, just like the hallway where he found the map earlier, and as he walk towards everywhere, wholly different from the outside of the stadium.

Gin saw that the walls outside are made of some kind of durable metal and the same metal was seen inside the place where the surprise happen and where the woman, Nancy, explain various matters.

'Hmm, is it to avoid someone burning this on the outside? That's nice...' Gin mused inwardly before he stopped himself from walking after seeing the class in front.

Gin doubled check if he was in the archer class and he is indeed in the right place, seeing that a sign on the door was plastered with words of [Archer Class] on it.

He hold the doorknob to twist it and as he moved it... he can't move it.

'Huh?'

Gin tried it again but the result was still the same.

'It's locked...? Wait, is this allowed in the first place?' Gin mused inwardly before he finally decided to knock on the door, thrice.

'Ok… just a bit.' Gin decided inwardly before he used his eyes, see-through, to see if someone was inside the door and if someone was coming on the door to open it.

Activating his eyes, Gin saw the head of some newbies sitting was looking at the door. He also saw someone raising his hand up, talking to someone that he couldn't see in his eyes.

It was obvious though as his eyes could only cover a measly ten meters, thus he could only see a few of them.

'Wow, I learn something in this.' Gin mused inwardly before he finally saw a man walking towards the door.

It wasn't someone that has the same physique as the newbies. It was the instructor that must be teaching the archery class.

It took a few seconds of waiting before the sound of the door creaking could be heard, revealing a good-looking man in front of him.

The man's eyes turned dark as coal as he stand, which made Gin become quite surprised. He had brown hair with a large build, enough for the ladies to scream that the man was indeed handsome.

With a frown on his face, the man crossed his arm around his chest and speaks in an annoyed tone, "You're late."
