บท 7: Into hiding

Months streamed by, I had been practicing discreetly and enjoying my new life. 'Come on fish man.' I thought to myself trying to activate my marine telepathy. 'Swim up!' Eyeing the goldfish hard. Frustrated I stopped staring at the fish and thought about my methods.

'How did Momoa do it in the movie? I remember he was being bullied and he just reached out instinctually. Maybe I shouldn't start with commands but something else.' My mom walked in to the living room where my play pen was set up and saw me standing holding the railing.

"Look at my strong little man! Soon you will be walking around and I wont be able to catch you." My mother says picking me up and giving me a squeeze. "What should we do for lunch? Daddy should be home soon. He said he had a very important meeting today."

I had heard him while being up in my room talking to someone in hushed voices. From what I understood, there was an important development in the fight against the dark lord.

Not long later there was a pop of apparition coming from the living room. I could smell blood in the air. His suit tattered and bleeding heavily from his left arm from a wound I couldn't see. He was breathing rapidly and using his right arm to press a hole he had in his thigh. He hobbled to me and scooped me up disregarding the blood on his arm. Reaching for mom he shouted "Anna, get over here we have to go!"

Mom showed her strength of character and trust. Keeping grip on the knife she had been using to cut veggies for lunch, she jumped into her husband's arms.

The next moment there was a sickening twist in space as I felt a pull from my navel. My body felt like it was squeezed through the cardboard tube of a toilet paper roll. I was unconsciously wailing when we finally arrived at a new location. Mom and I both vomited and I was disoriented heavily. Conversation was going on around me but I was barely present.

"They found out about Reg." Tom told Atlanna as they hobbled towards a small cottage. "You-Know-Who showed up and Reg and I fought back. They captured him Anna. Fuck! I can barely stand, I don't know how I didn't splinch us." Getting into the small cottage, dad pulled a chair around and set me on the ground. "In that cabinet there are a few potions - pass them here love."

My mother, still stoic, rushed to the indicated spot and grabbed a holster with 6 potions on it. She passed the potions to him and put pressure on the wound in his thigh. She freed his hands to uncork and chug three potions in rapid succession.

Breathing easier now, dad whipped out his wand and muttered, and what I assumed to be a diagnostic spell was cast over me. His expression noticeably eased further. "Tough little guy aren't you?" He said to me.

"Arthur is okay right Tom?" My mother asked.

"Besides the little spit up on him he did amazing." After easing mom's worries he did something I completely didn't expect and summoned a Patronus. A full corporeal glowing shark, that looked much like the one that killed me, appeared in the room. "Albus, Regulus Black has been captured by you know who. He wasn't able to tell me why we had to meet. I managed to take out Amycus Carrow. This has to be the fourth time I've barely escaped from him. Something must be done - my family is in danger here."

Dad nodded at the shark and it zipped through the ceiling. After watching it go Thommas Curry slumped in his chair and said "Oh hell...Reg...he is going to be torn apart by that monster, Anna."

Dad began to cry and mom held him. I just sat on the floor sad, scared, and feeling utterly powerless. My dad almost just died and mom and I would have been following shortly after, I'm sure.

It didn't take long for a silver glowing phoenix to shoot into the house. It brought a strong calming aura of safety that our small family appreciated. A wizened voice came from the creature before us. "Tom, I don't know what we can do for young Regulus. It is likely already too late for him. The dark lord is not one too delay punishment for those who cross him. You mentioned your family is in danger, is it not just you and Miss Atlanna? If not then you may be in more danger then you realize. Send your Patronus with your location and I will provide what aid I can immediately."

Tom and Atlanna looked at each other obviously worried about the message they just received. They both looked at me with clear worry in their eyes and I put my arms up. 'You two aren't the only ones that could use some consoling.'

After mom puts me back in her arms, dad focuses again and creates another ethereal shark. This time, expecting the spell and knowing what it would be, I had a much smaller PTSD flashback. My dad communicated our address and we waited for help to come.

Several minutes later two distinct pops were heard right outside our door. With wand ready my dad stood and peeked through the window. He shouted out "Aloha, what was the first thing I ever said to you Albus?"

"I believe it was 'Hūpō, how are you supposed to fight a war with stunners?' Though idiot seems a strong word in my opinion for doing the right thing." Albus Dumbledore responded without missing a beat.

"Alright Moody, where did I manage to tag you in our last spar?" My father shouted again. This news made me unconsciously raise my eyebrows in shock. I also significantly raised my father's threat level internally.

"You clipped my prosthetic leg with a sticking charm. Right after I fell, I hit you with a barrage of spells and nailed you with a stunner. Still my win." Moody replied wand out and fake eye rolling wildly. "Tell me what is your grandma's name?"

"Tala - now come in here quickly and tell us what this 'more danger than we know' is." My dad responded opening the door.
