A dense fog blankets the night. Small branches, of hibernating trees, sway in the night air. The Deadwater Memorial Cemetery is quiet, except for the occasional insect, owl or rodent that scurries about.

The haze in the air distorts visibility, making it hard to see. A chill is in the air. Drawing my hoodie tighter around my head, I blow warm air into my cold cupped hands.

"Pet." Gaila waves a flashlight back and forth on the ground a little over fifteen feet away. "I think I have found what you are seeking."

A shiver runs up my spine. I draw in a deep breath of the crisp night air. Making my way over to her, my knees shake, knocking together. She turns off the flashlight.

Kneeling, I grip the small metal frame, reading the print under the dim light of the moon. Scribed across the inserted paper, I find her name, Staci Anne DeLuz.
