After Leone and Lilah had gone and their footsteps had retreated into silence, Asara and I spent a long moment just looking at each other, clearly waiting for the other to say something. I didn't really know how to bring up the topic without sounding like I was presuming things because for all I knew her attitude was completely normal for a talon rider and everyone but me knew this, or perhaps there was something else to it and I would sound like an idiot if I didn't know.
Eventually, Asara lowered her eyes and sighed. It wasn't a sigh of defeat but more like a sigh of acceptance like she was finally ready to do something.
"Your majesty, I knew this was going to happen sooner or later," Asara said. "You are clearly not familiar with us and our customs and how our inner workings function. I will do my best to inform you. I only ask that you keep an open mind as some of what I say will seem confusing and odd from your point of view. Am I correct in saying that you're human?"
"For the most part... I think."
I wasn't sure what this body was exactly. It could be completely human and my speculation didn't matter or I could have the blood of some race from this world that I didn't know about, but even if didn't my strength and ability were off the charts so could I really still be called human?
I shook my head and focused back on Asara, now wasn't the time to e getting into a philosophical debate with myself. I had Migi for that.
"Well I think it's best if I start from the beginning, your majesty," Asara said. "It will make more sense that way."
I nodded and motioned for her to continue, intrigued and curious as to what she was going to say.
She took a deep breath and began. "The history of the talon riders isn't as long as you probably think it is. We are only two generations old and it wasn't until this generation that we truly began to come into our own. The first people to bond with the silverhawks were just ordinary soldiers, more specifically, female soldiers. It was learned early on that males could not bond with silverhawks, why? we do not know, but the first riders were just kords with bonds. It wasn't until later that the king at the time decided to create an elite force of them and name them Talon riders."
I nodded as she went on, not understanding where she was going with any of this.
"There were... difficulties, however. You see when a female bonds to a silverhawk they take on certain behavioral aspects of the beast, including certain customs. Our personality also changes as does the way we see certain things, a mix of beast and human."
It slowly began to dawn on me. The way they acted, the constant movement of the eyes, their grace, and the way they moved and acted towards others. I didn't interrupt her, however, and instead, let her continue.
"I'm sure you've noticed some of these aspects, including the way we move and act towards certain people. Your majesty, one of the customs we get from the silverhawks is their mating and familial customs. You see, sivlerhawks are pack predators similar to other beasts and even some humanoid races. Multiple females, the talons, will gather around an alpha, the sky lord. They are attracted to the strongest male they can find and will naturally gravitate towards them."
"Oh."
Now things made a lot more sense. The way they acted towards me, the adoration, and now what I was understanding was affection.
Holy shit, I thought, is this really happening? There's no way.
I leaned back in my seat and stared at Asara, not really believing what had just been said. This entire situation sounded like something out of a bad harem anime or novel. These things didn't happen in real life, but it was, and I was the target of their affections.
"Your majesty," Asara whispered in a soft yet firm voice, staring directly into my eyes. "My riders and I can't help ourselves. You are stronger than anyone we've ever seen and are only getting more so. I understand if you're not comfortable with this. We will not press you or make demands, but if there is one thing I am to ask then it is that you give us a chance."
"Asara," I said, trying got keep the shock from my voice. "I'm not averse to the dea of being with multiple beautiful women, but I need to know if this is a love relationship or...."
She smiled and shook her head. "We are not asking of love, not immediately. We are just asking for your company and the right to call you our sky lord. My riders and I of this generation have never laid with a man and we accepted the fact that we might never do so, but then you appeared."
"I need some time to think," I said. "I'll give you my answer when we reach the capital, but for now I need some time alone."
She nodded and gave me one last smile before she left the room. I found my gaze drifting down to her swaying hips and ass. I felt my body react and several thoughts flood my mind, but I pushed them back and tried to think about what had just happened without perverse thoughts in my mind. As if that's going to be possible. I thought, first Leone, Domino, and Blair, and now Asara and the riders. Bloody hell, things are gonna be hectic when I get back, not that I'm complaining.
Was this something I really wanted? It wasn't that I didn't like them, or saw them as unattractive. No, they were all most certainly attractive. I hadn't seen a single rider that didn't look like they couldn't be on the front page of a magazine back home on earth, but there were over a hundred of them.
"Would you like some advice?"
I glanced down in surprise to see Migi looking up at me. I nodded at his question. Mini had helped me once before, and I could count on his logical mind.
"Well it's simple," Migi began. "As I've said before you keep thinking about this as though we are back on earth. This is not earth and your worries, which I'm assuming are of love, and the idea that you being with a high number of women is ridiculous. Well, it shouldn't be. She told you that she was not expecting love at first and that they just wanted your company. You are attracted to them as they're attracted to you. There is no risk in giving this endeavor a chance. At worst there will be little love but at least both sides will get some comfort from it, at best you shall grow to care for them. I don't see how you do not understand. Your goal is true godhood is it not? You shall live forever and if we live through and make it to the end then nothing shall be impossible. As I've said before and shall say once again. Adaptation is key."
I sighed and smiled down at Migi, feeling lucky that I'd summoned him. he had quite the way with words and while many would think him cold, he knew exactly how to explain things. He was right, what was the risk in giving it chance? I was only going to get stronger and if Eden was to be believed then there would come a time where I could be able to use my summons powers. I could think of several potential summons which would allow me to be with multiple people at a time.
"Thanks, Migi," I said genuinely. "I'm glad you're with me."
"Of course," Migi replied. "I'm here to help you."
"Boss?"
I looked up to see Leone's head poking into the room. She gave me a confused look. "What did you and Asara do? She was blushing like a little girl when I walked past her."
"It's complicated."
"I can explain if you wish?" Migi offered.
I nodded and Leone opened the door to let herself and Lilah in. As Migi began to explain I leaned back and closed my eyes, letting my body sink into the comfy seat. It had been a very busy day, but in the end, things had worked out, and soon I would be back at the capital and would finally be able to get some rest and relax among... other things.
