บท 12: I Became A Murderer.
"Hey, Carter, that's not what I meant, I know Ted is soo damn smart, but that isn't enough point to push me to believe Leia is a traitor."
"Denzel you are quite right but, not all right. Let's at least ask Ted for what made him to judge her that way. I am gonna call him right now. He'll probably let us in on what he knows."
"That's stress, I am not going talk to him."
*Beep*Beep*
Carter dialed Ted's phone number but he didn't receive any response, Ted kept ignoring the call and Denzel wasn't taking the matter seriously. He kept giving Carter reasons why Ted was being a dick.
"Hello, Ted, are you there"
"Yeah, what do you want?"
"Well, I was speaking with Denzel and I think it's better to get you to let us know what you had seen or heard that made you to accuse Leia of being a traitor..."
"Carter, I am going to stop you there because you are making a mistake, I ain't accusing Leia, she is a traitor. Well I still ain't going to say what I heard because that stone headed idiot isn't going to believe anything I say."
Carter looked at Denzel who was just insulted and he shook his head.
'Thank the heavens that this call isn't on speaker, if Denzel hears this, he is going to lose it. Bu.....'
Carter was interrupted in his thoughts when he heard a scream. He looked at Denzel who was also startled by the noise, he ended the call with Ted.
"Ted I would call you back.
Denzel, did you hear that?"
"Yeah I did, that sounded like Rocco, I could have said they were playing, but, but..."
"Something must be wrong right?"
"Yeah, let's move."
The two took off, with Denzel going at a faster pace than Carter. Denzel was normally known to be more athletic than any of them. That was only natural because he had the abilities of an Eagle.
"Carter, faster!"
Denzel got there first and he stopped his tracks immediately he saw what went wrong.
"Denzel, what's goi..."
Carter arrived just after Denzel had gotten there, panting so hard and he couldn't even complete his sentence immediately he set his eyes on the blood that filled the whole place. He looked at Denzel whose mouth and eyes were wide opened.
"Ro...cco?"
Carter said, stammering as he saw the blood that rushed out of his Rocco's body. He almost threw up looking at leia who kept toying with his childhood friend's body with the knife she held. She didn't stop even when the two had gotten there. She already knew that whether she was seen or not, her cover had already blown.
"Leia, what are you doing to Rocco? Was Ted right?"
Leia looked up as she dropped the body of Rocco who had already left the world
"Ohh, someone's already here. I will tell you just one thing. You fucked yourself up, Ted warned you, but thank you for trusting me till the end, it granted me the chance to complete the plan I had. It took forever waiting for you guys to lower your guard."
Denzel froze, looking at Leia as he shivered.
"Denzel, that's Leia right? and that's Rocco on the ground right? What about Ariel?"
Ariel was right there, on the ground but her face had been disfigured and stained with blood. Denzel grinned his teeth at the sight and cursed himself at that point. Memories of them in the past rushed into his brain and tears dropped down his eyes.
"So you mean you hadplanned all these huh?
So I was just an idiot all these while huh?
Leia, what is that you wanted to achieve by doing this? I trusted a traitor like a fool and led my friends into their death huh?"
Leia looked at him laughing, she glanced at Carter and saw the fear in his face and she felt good deep inside.
"Denzel, you asked for what I want to achieve huh, when I get your soul out of your body to hell, you can watch from there and see what I am gaining from it. You can't completely blame me honey, you caused half of these and your friends caused quarter of it. You killed your friends because of your mere stupidity and your friends refused to trust me and they kept questioning me like I was some kind of link search, so they also assisted you in killing them."
Denzel felt a heavy beat in his heart, it was almost like a massive bowling ball was dropped in his chest. He opened his eyes, shocked. Well, he had taken it as a bitter truth that he killed his friends but still he felt he couldn't withstand it coming from her.
'I killed my friends, I killed Ariel... and Rocco and... Car..."
Denzel turned back and saw Carter sitting on the field. The fear in Carter's eye had said a lot- 'He didn't want to die.'
Denzel turned back to Leia who kept on smiling as she licked the Knife which was drenched in blood and he get irritated.
"Carter..."
"Ye.. Yes?"
"Step back, you won't end up like them, I will protect you... I will take Leia on and, I apologize, because I didn't let you in on what you are about to see..."
Carter listened to Denzel's words and he saw Denzel's body slowly transformation into a figure that looked like a bird. He was shocked but he felt a sense of relief as he was a little assured that at least, he would be protected.
"Wow, Denzel is actually playing hero to save Carter after he killed two of his friends already... nope three because that weakling behind you would join them soon and to make this fair I am also going to fight you as a beast ."
"You think I would just look at you kil-"
In a second, Leia vanished from Denzel's sight and the next place he saw her was at his front. She vanished again, and when Denzel knew what was going on, he looked back and saw Carter bleeding extensively from his neck as he whispered something to him. Denzel moved closer to be sure of what he said.
'Th... ank you for everything... Den... zel, please, kill that bitch."
Carter's voice began to fade out. He was already gone.
