บท 36: Pirate Attack
(Starrk's POV)
"How did you hear about that?" Anne exclaimed, "Who told you that? That was an isolated incident!"
I sighed, "I got my sources." I said, "But I heard about what had happened."
"No you don't know what happened." She said as she scowled, "Not the whole truth."
I nodded, "I wasn't there. But still." I told her, "I am sorry for that. I know they were your friends."
"Shut up." She growled as she looked away, "I don't need your sympathy."
I looked at her. She had crossed her arms and started to shake a bit. After all we been through, she felt like she could show a bit of emotions in front of me.
I understood that she was close to Liam and Ricky as they were her comrades. I had heard that they died in battle against Pirates. It was only a matter of time that I saw her and expressed my sympathies.
"Anne." I reached for her shoulder
"Shut up, Starrk." She spat, "I mean it. This isn't the time to talk about that. We're here to figure out what happened. If you're not gonna help, then take your men and leave."
I was going to say something but I heard my transponder snail ring. I pulled it out of my pocket snd answered it.
"What?" I said
"Oi Starrk, get your girlfriend and come to the deck." One of my men said, "We got a situation!"
"What?" I said
"Come quick!" He said before hanging up
I looked at Anne who had an eyebrow raised.
"I'm not your girlfrie-" she started
"Oh shut up." I said before grabbing her by the arm, "Lets go see what this is about."
I pulled her along as as I walked towards the deck.
As We got there, I saw as the Marines and my men were all looking at the sea and were murmuring frantically.
One of my guys saw me and pointed towards the sea.
"Attack!" He said
"What?" I said before I heard a loud boom
I watched as a cannonball hit the top part of the battleship, exploding and sending debris everywhere.
"Dammit!!" Anne exclaimed, "We're under attack!!"
I walked over to the side of the ship and looked over to where the cannon came from.
"Who the fuck just fired at us?!" I demanded
"Uhhhhh!!!" One of my guys who had a telescope said, "I think this is bad, Starrk! We don't got the manpower to deal with this!"
"What?" I said
"Its The Big Mom Pirates!!" He said as he handed me the telescope, "Its Perospero and Katakuri!!"
I grabbed the Telescope and looked through it. He was right.
There were two large battleships that had the names of Big Mom's sons on the flags. It was Perospero and Katakuri's ships.
"What the actual fuck?!" I said, "What're they doing here?!"
I then watched as the ships started firing cannons at us.
"Oh fuck!" I said as the cannonballs hit the decks of the ship we were on, "Return to ship! Man the cannons! Return fire as we retreat! Repeat! Everyone on our ship!!"
I looked at Anne who was directing her men back to her ship.
"Call for backup! We have two Big Mom vessels attacking us!" She ordered
As soon as she said this, her ship was hit by a barrage of cannons that were aimed. The explosions were big enough to cause serious damage to the side of her battleship.
"Dammit!!" She exclaimed
Big Mom's ships were no joke when it comes to firepower.
I watched as the ships inched closer than I preferred.
"Oi Starrk!!" One of my guys shouted, "Lets go!!"
I then watched as the ships bombarded Anne's battleship, flames and smoke engulfed it. Anne was still on the empty ship and looked at the bombardment in disbelief.
I turned to my men who were already on our ship.
"Oi!!" I said, "Back the fuck up and wrap around to the back of those ships! I'll stay here and hold it down!"
"What? Are you crazy!?" He bellowed, "We gotta call for backup or get outta here!"
"Do as I say!" I shouted, "Get this ship around and behind them. Hit them from behind as I cut them from in front! Do it!"
He then nodded and gulped, "You're the boss!"
I then drew my sword and immediately cut up several cannonballs that were fired at me.
I watched as my ship began to pull up. I also saw as the two enemy ships were already in front of the empty vessel.
I watched as two figures jumped from the ships and landed in front of me.
"Perorin~" i saw as the tall and lanky Perospero looked at me, "Lookie what we have here….A stray Wolf….eh, Katakuri.."
"Hm." I saw the Tall and stoic Katakuri stare me down
"What the fuck are you doing here?" I asked
"Perorin~" Perospero said, "That's none of your damn business, Starrk!"
"Indeed." Katakuri said, "We're not here for either of you."
"We're here for The Dragon Knight."
