บท 8: Drowning in the Bathtub
Abriella was silent when she heard David's request, she couldn't... She could have helped the man beside her, but for what? Would it be okay if she helped David in this dream? That's a question that popped into Abriella's head that made her have to think about this decision carefully
'Ah... Isn't this a dream? Whatever things I do here, have no consequences in the real world, right? Well, maybe by helping him I can get a clue as to who killed him!' Abriella's mind changed when she saw an opportunity, and also a consideration that resulted in an output that could be said to be good later.
Instantly Abriella put on a sweet smile on her face, looking at David who was still watching her all this time. Which managed to make a faint blush appear on David's cheeks at that moment.
"Alright, I'll be happy to help you. And you don't need to give me a salary, just enough to permit me to be near you!" Abriella replied suggesting David who had been silent and raised an eyebrow because he was curious about what Abriella wanted to be with him. But he still agreed to this, even though he didn't need Abriella's help because what he had said was just a diversion from the question Abriella gave him who was curious about the reason behind Abriella's death.
"Okay. You can be near me whenever you want! And now what you need to do is—" David stopped when he saw Abriella who was standing beside him looking in pain with her hand holding her left chest.
"Abriella, are you all right?" Asked David who now put the file in his hand back on the table, David turned his chair to face Abriella as the woman looked more and more in pain and bent down, with her hand still touching her left chest.
'Heart attack? Was his death due to a heart attack?' David thought as he stood up from his seat and walked over to Abriella. At the same time, Abriella's body fell, luckily David moved quickly and managed to catch the body that felt cold to David.
"Hey, tell me what happened to you?!" David asked Abriella.
Meanwhile, Abriella, who is now falling and is still squeezing her left chest, feels excruciating pain that makes Abriella feel confused and scared. Instantly she felt short of breath and struggled to take in as many breaths as she could. But it still didn't work, and all Abriella could feel right now was David's hands holding her body and David's voice asking her condition.
"Haaaaaaa!" Abriella woke up with her eyes immediately opened and a very long breath that could be heard from her throat. Abriella's body arched as she took that breath, and fell back onto the bed when she felt better.
Abriella could feel the air again entering her lungs and filling her chest, taking away the pain she had been feeling. But when she woke up, Abriella felt confused about her current whereabouts.
Abriella turned to her left where a device that produced a consistent beeping beep...beep. Then Abriella turned to the right where a door had been tightly closed, Abriella turned to her arm, which turned out to have been attached to an IV tube. Abriella finally knew where she was right now, she looked back up at the ceiling and took a deep breath. Silent thinking about what she had just experienced until she remembered that she was taking a shower at that time.
Did she drown in the bathtub from sleeping? And who was the one who helped her? Abriella thought about the two questions.
When the door to Abriella's room opened, the woman who was lying on the bed turned towards the door and saw Natasha who came with Melinda into her room with two coffee cups in their hands.
The two women looked surprised when they saw Abriella who was awake and now staring at them, trying to get up from her lying position and sit on the nursing bed. Melinda immediately put away the drink she had brought and immediately ran over to Abriella to immediately hug her.
"Abriella!" Melinda shouted at Abriella when she hugged Abriella, while Natasha who was also in the room just walked slowly towards the two.
"What happened?" Abriella asked the two friends who replied with a sharp look.
"We should be the ones asking you that! What happened to make you dare to do something like this?" Asked Melinda who had previously protested the question from Abriella. Abriella who got the question was just silent and glanced at Natasha who was beside Melinda who was now giving her a wry smile.
Abriella realized, at this time Natasha must feel guilty because when this happened, Natasha was not with her.
"I… I don't know, I was just soaking in the bathtub. And fell asleep, then woke up here." Abriella wasn't completely lying, no! She didn't lie. She was taking a shower at the time, and accidentally fell asleep, then when she realized she was already in this room. So none of Abriella's words told a lie.
But it seems that Abriella's two friends didn't believe what she said, they just stayed silent and looked at her with a doubtful look which finally made Abriella could only silently resign herself to the situation.
"Ella… I told Jane and Melinda all this!" Natasha said which made Abriella surprised and immediately glanced at Melinda who was standing beside her. The woman nodded her head slowly at Abriella, with her two lips pursed while giving Abriella a faint smile.
"Mel, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hide this from you guys, I just…" Abriella fell silent as she felt that evading would only get this into trouble, not to mention Melinda's whiny and stubborn character, which could make her very angry if she did. Abriella revisited this or even avoided it.
"Is it really because of this problem that you tried to kill yourself?" Ask Melinda. Abriella quickly looked into Melinda's eyes who were looking at her seriously.
"No... Not because of that, it's all just..." Abriella, who was about to explain all that she had experienced to her two friends, gave up and thought that now wasn't the right time for her to tell everything. So he looked down and said,
"Forget it, I don't want to talk about this right now."
