Angela couldn't wipe the smile off her lips as she parted from Ernesto that evening. Despite the date being something as trite as grabbing drinks at a bar, doing so with him had been so amazing that it was almost magical.
She walked out of the bar, hand in hand with Ernesto, both laughing at something the other said. The moment was so chaotic yet so blissful that they both didn't realize when they began holding hands. Or perhaps they had realized but didn't comment on it because they were afraid of jinxing it.
Angela's curls bounced as she chortled but her eyes were what gripped his focus and left him a bit slack-jawed in awe. Her eyes were a smoky grey that stood out perfectly against her soft brown skin. Her eyes had a soft expression in them. It mesmerized him more than he was comfortable admitting.
