บท 56: ALLERGY
"I love you." Alvan whispered to her, she didn't reply yet didn't speak anymore, he cuddled her before closing his eyes to join her to sleep.
On the fifth day of shooting for the new film, the set was in chaos because Yanarym suddenly fainted in the middle of taping the scene. The location of the set was far from the city, the ambulance would take an hour to arrive. Shortly after she collapsed, rashes appeared on her skin and it worsened every second. Then, she regained consciousness but was breathing violently. She was crying frantically, trying to gasp for air, yet she seemed doesn't get any.
"WHERE IS THE FUCKING AMBULANCE!?" Next to her, Alvan was the one who was panicking the most. He didn't know what to do, she couldn't breathe and he could only watch her. He was on the verge of crying when he remembered Alyx.
He quickly dialed his older brother's number and could barely tell what was happening. But when Alyx heard that Yanarym was in critical condition he promptly called one of his helicopter pilots and went to their location.
Arriving at the set he saw Alvan next to Yanarym who was covered in red rash and traces of tears on her face.
"Brother, they found a doctor and helped her for time being but she needed to go to the hospital for the full recovery treatment," Alvan told Alyx, Alyx nodded and patted his shoulder.
"You did a great job, I will contact Kane Morgan and inform him about the situation, carry Yanarym to the helicopter, and go straight to the hospital. I'll handle the situation here." Alyx said assertively, he then redirected his eyes to Yanarym.
"The doctor who aided Yanarym told me that she had consumed a large amount of food that she is allergic to. That is why her allergic reaction is quite severe and... if we ... were a little late, she could end up worse." Alvan eyes watered as it sinks it to him that she almost died. Just like that...
Although Alyx's expression and demeanor were calm and composed. His jaw clenched after hearing Alvan. His eyes turned cold and his hand was formed to a fist. He looked at Yanarym again and saw the aggravation of her allergic reaction to the rashes on her body.
He reached for her face but he also withdrew his hand for fear of hurting her when his skin landed on her skin.
"I understand, send her to Kane Morgan immediately. He knows better what to do than us."
When the helicopter left, Alyx called Kane's personal phone number and he answered with three rings.
"Rym is not with me, is she not on her taping with your brother right now?" Kane greeted him casually.
Since the three of them were already stuck with one woman, they learned how to get familiar with each other's presence. Oftentimes, they would squabble, oppose and insult each other. Some days like this, they are tranquil and casual, most likely to think that they've become friends.
"She's with Alvan, they are heading to the hospital you're in. She might have eaten a large number of peanuts." Alyx said coldly and he felt the silence of the other line.
The three young men knew that Yanarym could eat all foods except peanuts. It just so happened that Kane had his own rest house in Palawan and he decided to invite Yanarym on vacation. Before nightfall, the two brothers also arrived at the rest house so the four of them took the day off.
The three men weren't sleeping and keeping an eye on one another so that none of them could sneak into her room. Eventually, they fall asleep after guarding themselves all night.
A thud from the kitchen woke the three of them. Kane went to check what it was and saw Yanarym lying on the floor and sharply breathing air. Kane's profession became handy as his emergency aid kits soothe her allergy reaction.
With Kane's provision to investigate what caused her allergy, Alvan found a pastry stuffed with peanut butter and had two small bites. Returning to the city after the incident, Kane insisted that she should have tests and confirmed that the peanut had a strong effect on her body. Since then, none of them allowed her to taste or intake peanuts or any kind of nuts.
Alyx informed his employees and her personal assistants of the danger caused by that certain food and warned them not to let her consume any. Yet, Yanarym insists on having a taste that would make her feverish.
Eventually the entire corp. banned the peanuts inside. It was even indicated on signing the contracts that there would be severe punishment if someone was caught carrying peanuts to Yanarym vicinity or even just anywhere as long as it was under Alyx rules.
"Who made her eat that?" Kane asked in an acerbic tone, "Didn't you ban peanuts? How could this happen?" Although Yanarym was a stubborn woman, she wouldn't eat to her death. She knows her limitations even if she would intake her forbidden food. So, the two are certain this was not Yanarym's fault.
"I did, and I'm working on it right now, your job is to make sure she'll be okay when I solve the matter here."
"You don't need to tell me what to do. Later, I want to know who the culprit is."
"Okay, I'll hang up now."
"Sure, bye." When Alyx finished the call he then turned his attention to the director who was talking to some of the crew about what happened to Yanarym.
"Director Rick, I need a word with you." When he heard Alyx calling to him, it was as if cold and hot water had been poured on him in fear of the young CEO. He was in big-big trouble!
Most of the projects appointed to him were inclined to the phenomenal couple. Which were Yanarym and Alvan, this couldn't be happening!

Those projects were assigned to him by Alyx himself. He wasn't sure about the details but he had hints that there was a strange connection between the three of them.
The Director caught Yanarym with Alyx, evident intimacy between the two was so obvious that you would perceive them as lovers at first glance. He also witnessed Alvan silently watching the two and would sometimes interfere with Alyx's being passionate with Yanarym, it's as if the three of them were in a polygamous relationship.
He found 'that' out but said nothing to anyone. He was well aware if it came out from his mouth, and the rumors spread. If Alyx investigates. He would definitely lose everything he had worked so hard for a long time.
Whether or not this issue was true or just his presumption, he would take it to his grave. His life depends on his silence.
And now, another dead flag raised Yanarym was in danger and the two most powerful men in his field are in a relationship with her. And he was the director, he was in charge of this place! And let one of his cast, especially the most important one, have a seizure!
Earlier he was lucky because Alvan wasn't himself as he was aggravating to her condition, he didn't blame and reprimand him. But Alyx is much more collected and analytical compared to his younger brother, nothing could pass through his meticulous eyes. If Alyx questions him about the situation and he couldn't respond, his life is doomed.
To make it worse, Alyx's management strictly implemented that no kind of nuts must be presented to his corporation, especially to Yanarym. There was a peanut butter bottle in the trash bin meters from Yanarym's dressing room. And, to his terror, one of the staff found in her dressing room a box of chocolate waffles mixed with banana so you wouldn't know there was peanut butter mixed in it but if the box was to inspect, there were scrapes of the peanut butter on it.
The staff also found a gallon of ice cream with a few cashew nuts in the small freezer in Alvan's dressing room. But the lid of the container was the flavor of cookies and cream. Yanarym didn't finish it since she had to take a scene, and that's when she collapsed.
In Yanarym's dressing room Alyx sat on the high stool chair, to his front were the wrappers, trash, and remaining foods of what she had eaten all day placed on the top of the table.
Yanarym and Alvan managers, PA, the head make-up artist, and the Director sat on the couch which fit six people.
"How did this ice cream reach her hand, Manager Risa?" He asked and kicked the ice cream container. It fell on the floor and the melted ice cream spilled. Their eyes locked at it, and Alyx saw the crushed pieces of cashews spreading on the floor. He gritted his teeth as the devastated Yanarym image popped into his head.
"I have given you all a repeated, 'clear' and 'specific' order--- she can eat everything else except for NUTS! And what the fuck am I seeing right now ?! EVERYTHING SHE INTAKE TODAY WAS DIFFERENT KIND OF FUCKING NUTS!" Alyx kicked the table hard which caused the people in the room to terrorize. Both PA's were accented in tears in fear of Alyx.
"So, tell me while I'm still trying to stay sane. How did she manage to eat this? Aren't you monitoring her diet?!"
"S-s-sir ... A-alyx! I-I ... I can! Explain!" Shine, Yanarym's P. A. voiced out.
Alyx threw her a dire glance, "Explain,"
Earlier Yanarym asked her for coffee but they were already on the set. Shine had to leave to pick up her ordered milk tea instead of coffee at Yanarym's favorite milk tea shop. When she returned from the shop, she saw Yanarym holding a box of six pieces of waffles and a bucket of small ice cream. Shine couldn't tell her not to eat it because she seemed very happy receiving the 'gift' from her fan within the cast that she envied before gaining fame.
Yanarym finished her five waffles while gnawing the ice cream. When she was called by the assistant director, the head make-up artists retouched her makeup and hair, she hadn't finished her ice cream so she ordered Shine to store it in Alvan's freezer.
She gave Shine one of the six waffles, Shine had one bite and decided to save it for her sibling. The chocolate and banana flavor overwhelmed the peanut butter that's why she didn't notice.
After that, they went straight to the scene and Shine noticed Yanarym's turning pale and saw red spots so she told her to rest first because she might be full from all that she had eaten. And Yanarym did not listen and proceeded on playing the role.
It was in the middle of her performance, she suddenly fainted and in less than a few seconds, her whole body was covered in rashes. When she woke up she couldn't breathe properly. Everyone was startled by what happened, especially Alvan who started to lose his mind. If they hadn't met a doctor, they might have lost their lives if anything happened to her.
"You don't know where this comes from?"
"W-when I asked Miss Rym about it, she told me that it was from her fan among the cast." Shine stuttered, Alyx motioned to Martis, who quickly nodded and took his tablet inside the coat.
On the tablet, the screen can see all the actors and actresses included in the film.
"Director Rick."
"Y-yes sir Alyx?"
"Tell your whole team that no one is allowed to step out of here until the investigation is done. I will provide for all of the necessities and will pay for the delay of the taping."
"T-t-there... there is n-no need for that sir A-alyx." Director Rick stuttered, he doesn't care about the money at all.
