Lucas didn't think of anything else and pressed the button after he and Ryley walked inside the elevator, he still had to be professional even if he felt it was a bit unfair for Clyde to replace him with Vincent so suddenly.

His eyes went blank from the distraction, but when the elevator's doors slowly closed in front of him, Lucas noticed a familiar sound of beeping pattern. 

As a highly trained guard, Lucas memorized his surrounding by default, including the beeping pattern of the door's lock just now.

Why did the tune sound so similar to when he entered the passcode for Ryley's apartment earlier?

Too bad, the woman from before had disappeared behind the closing door of one of the apartments, and before Lucas could do anything, the elevator had brought them down and he heard Ryley talk to him.
