Su Ming sensed that Song Jia wasn't comfortable talking about her contracted beast.

He understood it well. He's from the clan of beast tamers after all. He understood that there would always be people who would covet what others have that they don't.

Understandably, they had just met only recently. Perhaps in Song Jia's eyes, he still hadn't earned her trust. He would be the same if he was in her place.

Especially when the Su Clan was not only known for being beast tamers, they were also known for how they regarded the beasts they tamed.

A lot of people in their clan had no attachment to the beasts that they tamed. Since after taming these beasts, other cultivators then would make a contract with it. They would have no other interaction with the beast after that.
