บท 23: Is that a Ferris Wheel?
After announcing the reformation and everyone living in the Fishman district agreeing to help the operation immediately started.
Arlong and his friends already started clearing up a huge area where the sea park will be built, Kuroobi the serious one in the group was currently seated and drawing up a blueprint for the sea park.
"Hmm, the sea park must have a lot of different rides and the main attraction will be the Ferris While." he then started drawing on a parchment paper.
Arlong along with Hatchan and Chew curiously checked the blueprint that Kuroobi was drawing and couldn't help but laugh.
"Shahahaha, what kind of ride of this Kuroobi?" Arlong laughed and asked as he pointed at the Ferris wheel.
A blush appeared on Kuroobi's face as he tried to defend his drawing, "This is a Ferris wheel!"
Hatchan who was staring at the blueprint had a thoughtful look on his face as he commented, "We all saw the Ferris wheel at the surface and this thing that you drew is clearly not a Ferris wheel."
Seeing Hatchan agreeing at Arlong the latter continued laughing while Kuroobi was already fuming in anger and shame.
Jinbe who saw the little commotion approached the group and asked, "What's going on here?"
Arlong who was still laughing hand over the blueprint to Jinbe and asked, "Brother Jinbe, this is the Ferris wheel that Kuroobi wants to build."
Accepting the blueprint Jinbe looked at the design of the Ferris wheel and his lips couldn't help but twitch, he took a deep breath and said, "There will be fishmen from the Ryugu Palace coming and they will be helping you with the sea park project."
Arlong nodded his head and said, "That's great, Brother Jinbe. we only know how to carry big stuff and are really bad at planning things so it would be really helpful if the Ryugu Palace will send some professionals to help us."
A few hours later a group of fishmen that was led by the Minister of the Left arrived at the fishmen district.
Fisher Tiger approached the group with a smile on his face and said, "Thank you for taking your time in helping us reform our home."
The minister of the left nodded his head with a serious look on his face and ordered the fishmen behind him, "You guys go on separate places base on your expertise and help the fishmen of this district rebuild their homes."
Seeing the fishmen from the Ryugu Kingdom helping the fishmen from the district, Fisher Tiger smiled and silently thanked Kenshin for being able to come up with this idea.
While the fishmen district became busy, A lone swordsman with white hair and a gray bandana wrapped around his eyes left the Ryugu Palace and made his way towards the entrance of the Fishman Island.
Kenshin who was riding on top of the manta ray smiled remembering the concerned look Otohime had earlier, he only felt this from his mother that unfortunately died from a disease when he was still a kid.
"Are you sure that you want to fight all the pirates that are entering Fishman island with a blindfold?" Otohime asked with a frown on her face.
Kenshin nodded as he handed the gray bandana at Otohime telling her to tie it around his eyes, "This is also part of my training, you should know how helpful it is if you have an absolutely strong observation haki right?"
Otohime sighed and took the bandana wrapping it around Kenshin's eyes, "Just don't push yourself too hard, okay? I also heard your conversation with Jinbe earlier about how you plan on plundering every pirate you face and donate the treasures for the reformation of the fishmen district."
Kenshin, who had his eyes covered, was experiencing a warmth that he hadn't felt for a long time.
"Don't worry, Otohime. you should know by now the reason why I am doing this right?" Kenshin said as he glanced back at Otohime who had a serious look on her face.
Not waiting for Otohime to reply, Kenshin raised his head and said, "I know that I am taking advantage of the unfavorable situation the fishmen district has, but this is the only way to have strong and faithful allies who can fight with me in the future."
Otohime felt conflicted hearing this, she already knew about the wrath inside Kenshin's heart but she thought that she can gradually ease his wrath by giving him the warmth he was missing but she was clearly underestimating Kenshin's resolve.
She then looked at Kenshin and said, "I know that I can't stop you but I only hope that you won't bring those fishmen who aren't strong enough to fight with you."
Kenshin nodded his head in agreement and replied, "That is a given, after reforming the fishmen district I will tell Fisher Tiger to train fishmen who are willing to fight under me and won't force those who wanted to live a peaceful life."
"Thank you." Was all Otohime said, Kenshin then stood up and left the Ryugu Palace riding a manta ray.
