"So you're saying he won't date Suzie anymore because she's a fan?!" Nanlilisik ang aking mga mata habang nakatingin kay Mr. Gun. Umaakyat sa ulo ko ang aking kumukulong dugo. Napasugod ako ng wala sa oras sa opisina niya matapos malamang ayaw na uling makipag- date ni Jin sa aking kapatid. This is the total opposite of my expectation. I heard that they enjoyed their first date. Suzie said Jin was really kind and acted like a true gentleman towards her. They talked about many things and laughed about many things. They have a lot in common too. Pagkatapos ng lahat, parang sobra naman ata yung wala ng kasunod na date dahil lamang fan niya ang kapatid ko. Ano yun pinaasa niya lang si Suzie!
"Director Young, Jin has firm principle that he'll never date a fan. I've known him for so long. Matigas yun pagdating sa kanyang pinaniniwalaang prinsipyo."
"Damn with that stupid principle! A fan can't just be a fan forever! She can be a fan today, a friend tomorrow and a lover in the future! People and situation could change anytime."
"Pero anong magagawa ko Director Young. When Jin said no, then it's really a no."
"I don't believe you! I'm sure you're easily supporting his decision dahil natatakot kang masira ang career ng DVX pag nagka-scandal dahil kay Jin!" I stood in front of his table. Itinukod ang aking mga kamay at inilapit ang aking galit na mukha sa aking kausap. "Listen to me Mr. Gun. All I ask is 3 or 4 dates until I take over my CEO position. You need to help me no matter what. You received my vote and I influenced the other shareholders of this company kaya ka nasa position mo ngayon so it's time to pay me back. Don't forget who I am. I'm the heiress of the second largest company in our country. Kung takot ka kay Chairman Shin, hindi ba mas dapat kang matakot sa akin? Even if you go against Chairman Shin, you'll survive if you have my protection but if you go against me, you'll definitely go down even if you have Chairman Shin behind you."
He instantly shook in fear. "D-Director Young I-I wanted to help you. Please believe me. Sa totoo lang hindi ko na nga alam kung saan ako lulugar pero sa maniwala ka o hindi napakatigas ng kalooban ni Jin. Mas lalaki lang ang problema pag pinilit natin siya."
"If you can't convince him then I will!" mabilis na sabi ko.
"I doubt he'll listen to you kung ako nga na parang tatay niya na ay hindi niya pakinggan, ikaw pa kaya. Sabi niya ay sapat na yung pinagbigyan niya ng isang beses si Chairman Shin."
Humalukipkip ako at nagparoo't parito. Mabilis akong nag-isip ng ibang plano. I'm not gonna give up this easily. Ano na lang ang iisipin sa akin ng tatay ko sa akin. He'll start to undermine my ability if I fail this so soon. I looked at Mr. Gun after an idea came up. "Anong tawag dun sa trabaho na laging kasama yung mga artists? Yung laging nakabuntot at nag-aasikaso sa kanila?"
"M-Manager."
"Yes that one. Let me be their manager," diretsong sabi ko.
Di makapaniwalang natawa ang aking kausap. "B-But you're a director of Hundai. How can you work as a mere manager of DVX? You have no idea how much time a manager has to spend with the artists."
"Well, I have all the time now because of this stupid problem. My father won't allow me to go back to my office until he's satisfied with my matchmaking skill!" gigil na gigil na bigkas ko.
"But still... you're Director Young."
"Then give me another name. Of course you won't introduce me to your people as Director Young. You can tell them I'm Cara, Irene or simply Jenny from the block. My face can't be found in the net either because I always let my legal team erase it kaya walang paraan para mabuko ako."
"But you're not qualified to be Fyne staff because we only accept married female staff."
I chuckled. "Then tell them I'm married. Ilang wedding ring ba ang gusto mong bilhin ko?"
Kukurap-kurap munang tumingin siya sa akin.
"Director Young seryoso ba talaga kayo?"
"Mukha ba akong nagbibiro?"
"Hindi madali ang trabaho ng isang manager baka isang araw pa lang ay sumuko na kayo."
"Dare me."
Walang magawang lumunok siya. "Sa tingin ko ay assistant manager lamang ang mabibigay kong posisyon. I can't fire one of the three managers now because they were with DVX since the beginning."
"I don't care what position, as long as I can spend some time with Chairman Shin's son."
"Baka naman plano mong kidnapin siya."
Ngumisi ako. "Why would I do that? Hundai image is far more important than DVX image."
"So when are you going to start?" he asked.
"Can I start today?" walang pag-aalinlangang sagot ko.
"DVX has TV guesting now. Maybe you can start tomorrow. But the boys will be back in the dorm before sunset kung gusto mo ay ipapakilala at ipapaorient muna kita mamaya para may idea ka na sa magiging trabaho mo bukas."
"Okay," I confidently answer.
He looked at my tangerine and white suit. "You can't face them in that outfit."
Tiningnan ko ang aking damit. "Why?"
"You look too expensive. Ang presyo ng suot mo ngayon ay isa't kalahating taon ng sahod ng isang assistant manager."
Nagulat ako sa binanggit niya. "Ano? Hindi mo man lang ba ako pwedeng pasahurin nang mas mataas?"
"You're still expecting a salary?"
"Siyempre naman. Kahit pa nagpapanggap ako, my work is still real," irap ko.
"Okay I'll raise it a little more compare to other managers."
Ngumiti ako. That's what I wanted to hear that I will always be special no matter what. "Anong dapat kong isuot mamaya?"
"A simple jeans, T-shirt and sneaker. Hindi rin pwede ang makapal na make up."
"Noted."
"One more thing. Ako at ang mga DVX members lang ang nakakaalam tungkol sa pamilya ni Jin dito sa Fyne Entertainment."
"Okay."
"Ah I have concern too. I have bodyguards wherever I go.Regarding my driver and body guards tell them they're your newly hired na idinagdag mo lang para magbantay sa DVX."
"You can't bring expensive car in the dorm or else they'll doubt you."
"Where is DVX dorm located?" tanong ko.
"Nova Hill."
"Okay. I'll buy a house near the dorm where I can park my cars," mabilis kong desisyon.
