SHINA POV
I fixed my suit and make sure I'm perfectly neat before knocking at Chairman Young's door. I definitely don't want to get on his bad side. He's the chairman of Hundai Motor Company, the second largest company in the country that was founded by my grandfather.
He's busy reading documents when I entered his office. I'm excited.
"Good morning Chairman," pormal kong yukod.
Nag-angat siya ng mukha. "Oh you're here. Have a seat."
"Yes. I have important thing to say to you."
"What is it chairman?" mahinahon kong tugon. Pinipigilan kong ipahalata ang aking excitement.
"You know Chairman Danny Shin right?" he asked.
"Of course sir. Fontte Corporation belongs to the top thirty companies in the country. They are in confectionaries, resort and hotels, beverages, restaurants and fifty more types of businesses.
"I had a nice and friendly conversation with him last night. We talked about business and family... specially about our children," he gave me a smile.
"That's very nice to hear chairman." Also, he's talking to me with a fatherly tone this time.
"We came up with a very important agreement." Mukhang masaya siya sa kanyang sasabihin. "He wants his youngest son to marry my daughter."
I cannot talk for seconds. I don't want to believe what I just heard.
"Don't worry it's not you. I won't marry you off yet, you still need to do a lot of things to prove you can take over Hundai. Isa pa, you're already thirty two.
Bumalik sa normal ang kulay ng aking mukha."Chairman, I clearly told you that I have no plan on getting married. I'm will devote my whole life for this company." "I-If it's not me... kung ganun ay ipinagkasundo niyo ho si Suzie?"
I suddenly had objection inside me. "B-But she's only twenty two. Can't we give her more time to enjoy her youth," maingat at magalang na paglabas ko ng saloobin.
"I didn't say they'll marry now. But all I want is for you to set them up smoothly. I need to seal this marriage agreement as soon as possible."
I cleaned my ear with my finger. Did I hear it right?
"I think it's time for you to take a break from the office work," diretsong sabi niya nang hindi pa nga nasasagot ang tanong ko.
My father praised me for that but what is this nonsense that I'm hearing right now?
"W-Why?" I asked in a very disappointed voice.
"You have to do your duty as a sister and as the upcoming COE of this company. Your mother passed away when you were thirteen, simula noon ikaw na ang tumayong nanay kay Suzie. It's time to fix the lifestyle of your sister now. Enough with going out with friends and non-stop spending. Get her a man who could teach her to live life seriously. I think Mr. Shin's son is a real gentleman and he's a very good match to your sister."
"I can guide her even without taking a break from the office," katwiran ko.
"It's not as simple as you think," he sighed.
"Why?" taka ko. "All I need is to set up dates and make sure they meet again several times. Invite the guy to a family dinner and maybe we can have dinner to their house too. I'll promise to teach Suzie well this time. If I'll be consistent with her, I know she'll listen to me."
"Do you know who's the youngest son of Mr. Shin?" he asked.
Umiling ako.
He stood up and get something from his drawer.
"He's a member of the boy band DVX," he said.
