Concubine Mei couldn't sleep either. As the concubine of Nan Shu Cheng, she knew very well that she wouldn't end well when Nan Shu Cheng was in trouble. This was why she always restrained herself and tried her best not to create too many troubles.
Even though she said to do everything necessary to achieve her goal, she still knew her sense of proportion.
There was a limit to everything.
"Mom," Nan Xin called out.
"Don't worry. Everything will be alright." Concubine Mei looked at her daughter and smiled reassuringly. Even though she herself felt anxious, she didn't want to put her daughter on the spot because of her feelings.
As long as the crimes were not too much, they should be able to avoid a death sentence. But the problem was, she didn't know what crime that Nan Shu Cheng was charged with. If it was so heavy, those associated with him would definitely be punished with a death sentence.
Tbh, I was originally planning to write more about Prime Minister Bei (in my draft, he was one of the earliest character I planned). But because Nan Hua did not deeply get involved in politics… what I wrote about him ended up to be very limited. (>.<)
I hope that I managed to portray him enough in the story.
Also, I’ll explore a bit more about Shangguan Family in the future. But their storyline will only continue when they crossed path with Nan Hua or when the timeline need their appearance.
Check out my new novel: Runemaster in the Last Days ^^ Thanks <3
