David was in his car and on his mobile to Browning. 'You've heard?'

'We monitor the police band. I thought you were going to leave it to me.'

'If I do anything you should know about I'll tell you.'

'What do you call last night?'

'You haven't given me the chance. Don't worry about the police. Now that Donaldson knows I'm around he'll be after me himself. He'll be furious the police were called; he'll downplay it with them. What have you found out?'
