บท 23: Celebration
Travis's pov
I said with a cheerful expression, "Then we should celebrate it. How do you want to celebrate it?"
She hesitated and said, "I want to spend my whole day with your family. Can I?"
I said in a quiet assured voice, "Sure, you can. My family member will be happy to know this."
She was nervous and wanted to say something. She just said, "And....."
I calmly said, "Don't be hesitant with me. Tell me. I'll try to fulfill it if it is not beyond my hand."
She relaxed and said to me, "I want to go to that place at midnight."
I get confused and asked, "Which place?"
She told me, "That garden where your mom used to go."
I asked her, "Why do you want to go to that place?"
She said, "I have something to tell you and I want to tell you about it in a calm ambiance like that place."
I told her, "What is it? Tell me now."
She laughed and said to me, "No, I will tell you about it in that place at midnight."
I asked, "Why that time?"
She smiled and told me, "Because at that time I can fulfill my whole wish."
I said to her, "Then tell me your other wishes."
She told me, "I have no more desire to grant. By my whole wish, I mean the time I'll spend with you, my mate and your family. My last wish is I only want you by my side forever."
I said, "Me too."
We went to my home. I told everyone about her birthday. For that, my uncle and aunt also came here to celebrate. They were so excited to celebrate it. I and my uncle bought everything from a birthday shop. On the way back, I secretly bought a locket for her from a jewelry shop. That locket was made of colorless sapphire with the shape of her favorite flower lavender. My grandma and aunt were busy with cooking and she was helping them by babysitting my sister. Then we spend the whole day there. Before 12:00 am, we came back from there to my treehouse. They want us to stay tonight there. Who knows today is the most unlucky day for me? If we didn't come back tonight then I could save both my mate and my family.
After we reached there, we sit on a corner of the cliff and she started the conversation.
She said, "I knew that it'll be my best birthday ever. From my childhood even though it was my birthday there, they lock me up in my room. They think of me as a curse for them. They went to celebrate other children's birthdays but not mine. They didn't even say happy birthday to me or grant any of my wills on that day. Instead of that, they beat me and asked me why did I bear?"
She started crying. I wipe her tears and told her, "Don't shed tears for those beasts. From today I'll celebrate your special day."
She couldn't stop her tears. So I hugged her. Then I asked, "What do you wanna tell me? It's already midnight. Tell me."
She was blushing and after a while, she whispered to me, "I'm.... pregnant."
I gently put my hand on her belly and pat it delightedly asked, "Since when did you find out about it?"
She said, "Two days ago when we went to eat at your home. Your aunt told me to go to a doctor because I looked so fragile and vulnerable in her eyes. By that doctor, I could find out about it."
I mockingly asked, "Then why didn't you tell me that before?
She gave me a bright smile and told me, "Because I want to surprise you today."
I took her in my arms twirl around. I kissed her and said, "Now we have a new member of our family. Let's get married tomorrow."
She chuckled as I laughed. We were so happy at that moment. But within a minute all turned upside down. Out of nowhere, her parents came here with their soldiers to brought her home. One of the soldiers came here to drag her away from me. As I tightly grab their hand, they release her hand. She hid behind me.
Then they came to me and said, "Give us our daughter back. For you scoundrel, we had suffered much."
She refused to go with them and said, "I'll never go back to that hell."
They send their soldiers to take her away from me. For that, they began to hit me with all of their clubs with all of their strength. But I didn't get hurt by that and brought her back to me. By that, they understand that I can be her partner from another species. So they asked her, "Who's he?"
She didn't get their trick and answered, "He's my mate."
When she said the term 'Mate' they get to know that I'm from another species because it's an unknown term for human beings. But I understand their trick so I put her into my arms and ran as fast as I can.
Meanwhile, the other soldiers of her fiancé went to roam around the forest and shoot fire on every animal on their way. For that, my family members come out to see the situation. And they got their shoot and die. My little sister survived because when my dad heard the gun shoot, he gets a premonition of danger in here. So he gave her to my aunt and told her to take her with them to the town and came to rescue me. My uncle already went to work after having dinner. So, they survived.
