Alice and Grom were following the blood scent of Scarlet Maiden, who got injured by a poison bullet. And, her duty was to protect Emilia's body from any danger.

"You... you are back," Alice muttered in a low voice while following the blood scent, "I wanted to tell you so much but, you never responded to my callings... so, why did you decide to talk now of all the time?"

"Humm, maybe I needed time... time to judge you and this realm..."

"All this time, I saw and felt everything through you... I kept watching..."

"I was scared in the past... drowning in the lust for more power..."

"I was afraid that you might abandon me just like those people did to you once you awaken your second power..."

"I was afraid of you... you were the strongest among us after all..."

The vampire Alice's soul spoke in Alice's mind. There was a hint of loneliness and sadness in her voice.
