‘A fourth? Did the Duke say a fourth? I thought it was two different kinds. What is going on here?’ The words came out of the people behind them. They wanted a reaction from the Emperor but he was silent, instead, he just watched the argument.
His expression was cold. The murmurs in the crowd made some people nervous. Baron Twenil and Duke Theodore were grinning while the accused ones were glaring there was no trembling in them just looking at the Dukes and the baron. The only one nervous in this was Duke Cross. He was rubbing his forehead trying to get rid of the sweat.
“A Fourth company, it seems the Duke is more informed with the situation of Rante than the Emperor himself, or are the letters sent to the Emperor infiltrated by someone from the inside? There has been no talk about this from the crown yet the Duke finds this moment to discuss this matter.” Conner spoke.
“It is true, isn’t it? So, you admit that you have broken the law.” Theodore laughed at the end.
