บท 16: Ambushing the Army

"Talion, we need to prepare for their attacks. We should set up traps that may help us in killing the orcs, decreasing their numbers is higher priority than taking down their captains." Celebrimbor said, knowing that Mordor's strength is it's numerous amounts of orcs.

"That is going to be difficult however, the gondorians don't believe me and some are getting overconfident after pushing back the orcs from the outer city." Talion countered, doubting that the Men of Gondor would believe his supernatural powers without looking the part.

"Fine then Talion but we should kill some of the orcs marching towards here even if we cannot massacre them all." Celebrimbor responded with little hope in his tone due to the Nazgul gathering to Minas Ithil.

"Even if we cannot defend Minas Ithil, we can still save the majority of the people and hope they can fight." Talion said.

"Then it is settled, we will bombard them with our bow to whittle down even a little amount of them." Celebrimbor decided.

"We should wait for nightfall, they can easily spot us in the day after all." Talion said as he sat on the top of a gondorian tower, overlooking the approaching distant army of Mordor.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before the army of Mordor was spotted...

"Caragor riders! Rush towards Minas Ithil to intercept those orcs of Sauron!" Annatar ordered after he finally gathered his cavalry, he hoped to save Minas Ithil to serve as a distraction for him to attack Sauron.

Saving Minas Ithil would force Sauron in a two front war after all, one being a civil war while the other is a defending city that could alert Gondor of his presence.

"Alright, Gift Lord! You heard 'im maggots! We run at full speed!" The orc captain leading the army repeated the orders and rode out.

"To think they would send an army that big towards Minas Ithil..." Annatar contemplated the reason but having no definitive answer, he left it for the future.

"Since they sent an army that massive, there should be fortresses that are weakened due to the lack of orcs which may allow me to capture it." Annatar said, now only waiting for his scouts to return and report to him which fortress is weaker.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alex had finally finished infecting Udun and the Black Gate, the Ologs had received somewhat reddish skin and glowing yellow eyes after he infected the trolls.

"Now go, my infected. Spread Blacklight throughout Middle-Earth, and commence the attacks on Mordor." Alex commanded through his hive mind ability, as the infected began marching out and inside Mordor.

"I should return back to Minas Ithil to learn of their plans now, maybe I can try my luck with Shelob to get the ring. Possibly even the One Ring itself...." He said with an evil grin.

He commanded the infected to focus their attacks on the North to reach Forodwaith which is like the Siberia of Middle Earth and move west to reach the former kingdom of Angmar.

He also transformed into an orc and ran to Cirith Ungol, hoping for his chances of taking the ring to succeed.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was currently night and Talion estimated that the marching army would take about two days, he was on a cliff overlooking the army.

He spotted some Nazgul doing some weird ritual which would turn the orcs' eyes glowing green.

"Well then, how about a taste of Grog." Talion said and aimed his bow towards a barrel of Grog which is a highly explosive alcoholic drink in Mordor, he shot which made some orcs fly away while some caught fire and began running around.

He continued shooting and shooting until nine puffs of shadow appeared behind him.

"Ah, so this is our new brother. We will welcome you with hospitality if you join us." The Witch King said, while spreading his arms.

"I may be similar to you, but you corrupted beings will never be my brothers." Talion declined

"Then we will have to convince you to join us then." The Witch King said as he pulled out his mace, which is a smaller looking version of Sauron's.

"We caught ourselves in a bad situation Talion as expected, we should lure them to Minas Ithil to alert the Men of Gondor of their existence." Celebrimbor suggested, as Talion nodded and went into a sprinting position and ran at full speed.

He went straight for a Nazgul which raised his sword but Talion leaped over him, he began running at full speed with a blue trail appearing behind him.

He saw Nazguls hot on his trail with them riding their horses and those who rode their fellbeasts previously turned into puffs of shadow which appeared beside him and attacked, thankfully he manages to avoid them by moving to another side.

He spots Minas Ithil after a while of running and almost reached the bridge but something prevented him, he looked behind him to see a Nazgul with a raised hand which had the Ring of Power glowing and basically immobilized him.

"Dammit! I didn't reach it fast enough." He said while moving slowly behind him.

"Resistance is futile now brother, join us...." A Nazgul said once again as the Witch King walked towards him.

Talion suddenly fell to the ravine beside the bridge, grabbed a holdable piece of the bridge and hid underneath it.

"You cannot hide from us forever, brother. Once Minas Ithil falls, you will join us..." The Witch King said as they rode off back to their army.

"That was a close call, if the usage of those rings were instant then they would have captured me. Thankfully just like in the game, they have to charge it first." Talion sighed with relief as he climbed back onto the bridge.

He walked to the entrance as the gondorians greeted him.

"Who were those in your trail? Some of us rushed to aid you once you've been spotted." A gondorian captain said.

"Report this to your higher-ups, those were Nazgul. Once kings of Men but had been corrupted by Sauron and turned into those Wraiths." Talion said, knowing he made them witness the Nazgul for them to believe his story.

"Tell them to avoid them in a frontal confrontation, a single man will not be a match for them no matter how strong." He added, knowing fully well of their powers. He even doubted if numbers could beat them purely due to Isildur's power to summon the souls of the dead to fight for him, and unironically having the best chance against the oldest of the Nine which is the Witch King due to the having the power to temporarily make him alot stronger than before and making him a harder opponent to fight in single combat.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile in Aragorn's journey...

He managed to reach Minas Anor and currently planning on how to prove himself as the heir of Isildur.

He suddenly bumped an old man on the shoulder.

"Oh, I apologize. I wasn't paying attention to-" He was cut off as he took a look at the old man.

"It is no problem, young man." The old man said while holding his staff.

"May I ask your name?" Aragorn asked to make sure.

"Gandalf, Gandalf the Grey." He answered as Aragorn had managed to make sure.

"I see... The wandering wizard?" Aragorn asked.

"It seems you know of me, what is the problem?" Gandalf asked Aragorn.

"I require your aid." Aragorn spoke with all seriousness.
