บท 8: Guide
Alex Mercer was currently on a building, observing the new Prototypes walking around in a district to hide from Blackwatch. 'I should guide them to get biomass faster, but how should I do that?' Alex thought, as he suddenly walked near a man sitting on a couch, "Hey, what's up?" The man asked as Alex suddenly grabbed him by the neck, "W-wait, what are you doing?!" The man pleadingly asked, but Alex then quickly consumed him and took his form.
He then went down by falling against the building while falling, he managed to land without causing much noise but the building now had a trail of destruction on it from up to down.
He went to the reincarnators only to witness Heller punch a Blackwatch commander and consume him, "It's the test subject!" The Blackwatch soldier reported as a helicopter came flying in and the soldiers arrived as they began to shoot them, Mark and Bonnie then went to take care of the soldiers arriving, Chris was getting the attention of the helicopter, Heller consumed the two other Blackwatch soldiers with him and Arla was helping Chris by going atop a building and trying to find a throwable object.
Alex then ran to Mark and Bonnie to help them as he began punching and massacring the soldiers alongside them.
After a while, they finished massacring the soldiers and the six gathered. "Nice to meet you, seems you guys have the same situation as me." Alex greeted while disguised, "A pleasure, what should we call you?" Asked Mark, "You can call me Daniel." Daniel said as Heller then asked, "What do you know about Mercer?" Although a bit aggressive, "Don't know much about him apart from being infected by him." Daniel said nonchalantly, "Do you need some help by the way?" Daniel asked, "What kind of help?" Bonnie asked. He then turned his arms into Claws, "Like this type of help, you guys seem new to being infected after all." He 'concluded' while observing them, "That's honestly pretty cool, even though it's that guy's power." Chris confessed, "So how do we change our arms like that?" Arla asked curiously. "To get these, you have to consume infected, Brawlers are the most basic type of special infected, they are bulky creatures about twice as tall as a normal human with orange eyes and pinkish skin, their roar is like a tiger's, they are the agile creatures and the most numerous among all and you will receive these Claws. Juggernauts are slow and heavy hitters while when they close their arms together it forms a shield, their skin is ebony dark with a long face and large stomach, if you consume them then you'll receive either these shields." Daniel explained as he then showed the shields, "And also these." As he showed the Hammerfists. "Finally, Hydras. You can get these Tendrils once you consume them, you should be familiar with them as Copperheads." As he showed the Tendrils. "Now, if you'll excuse me." He said as he parted from them.
"That would work for us to kill Mercer." Mark concluded as the rest agreed and Heller stayed silent.

After Alex left them, he then contacted an Evolved. "How is the preparation of the release of the infected in the Yellow zone coming along?" Alex questioned, "It's all ready to go, sir." The Evolved reported as Alex smirked, "Wait for my signal." Alex ordered as he waited on a building near the church.

"Wait a minute, I know this neighborhood..." Heller stopped them, "What? You know someone here?" Chris asked, "Yes, the church priest. There's his church, hopefully he's there, he may be able to help us." Heller answered, "How? He's a priest after all, I doubt a god worshipper would help us monstrosities." Bonnie interjected, "Just follow me." Said Heller to her as he frowned.
They then walked to an old man in priest clothes trying to clean off the graffiti on the walls. A shadow suddenly dawns on him as he looks behind him, he sees a man in a jacket with red tendrils moving about in his torso, he then knelt and began praying until the man lifted him up by the arm. "Father, I'm not gonna hurt you." Said Heller, "James?" Guerra looked at him. "Let's talk about this inside." Heller suggested.
Inside the church, Guerra sat down on a Pew. "So what happened to you?" Guerra asked curiously, as Heller began narrating the story of what had happened.
"That is quite the story, and these are the ones who tried helped you?" Guerra questioned, "Yes, Father. Right now, we're trying to find any infected for us to grow stronger and kill Mercer." Answered Heller, "But I don't understand why you had come to me for help?" Guerra asked, "I came to you because you see things, you hear things. I came to you because we need your help." Heller pleaded, suddenly they begin hearing screams outside the church. "What the fuck's happening now?" Bonnie said frustratingly, as some infected broke through the walls of the church and entered inside. "Querido dios, there's too many of them!" Shouted Guerra, as he quickly searched for the shotgun he used back then. "Never took you for knowing how to shoot a gun." Heller said with a bit of surprise in his voice, "Let's just say I had a lot of tattoos removed." Said Guerra as he began unloading his shotgun at the infected coming, they then began pushing the infected back out the church.

Alex Mercer was currently on a building, he gave the signal for the release as soon as Heller talked to Luis Guerra. He gave commands through the hive mind to wreak havoc across the Yellow zone while commanding some infected to attack the church, he then saw the Prototypes push the infected back as he ordered five Brawlers to attack with one attacking each reincarnator while two were attacking Heller.

A growl was heard near the reincarnators until it turned into a roar, they looked at the source as they found a creature five times their size while twice their height. One charged at Chris as he rolled to the side while he put one of his hands and both feet at the ground as he then slid while preventing himself from falling before he recovered and stood up. The creature turned towards him as it charged again but it leaped and raised both of it's claws as it swung it's arms downwards however Chris rolled underneath and stood up again as he punched the Brawler's back rapidly. The Brawler then turned towards him as it swung it's right claw but Chris ducked and wrapped his arms around the right claw and sat on it's shoulder before it attempted to bite him but Chris then pulled with all his might as he hopped off but the Brawler resisted however as a consequence, it's arm got ripped off as Chris landed on the ground but the Brawler quickly reacted as it immediately attacked him, Chris then jumped over it as he grabbed it's upper jaw and pulled once again, it got it's head ripped off as tendrils appeared from his body to the Brawler's. His arms were ingulfed into tendrils as he achieved the claws, he watched the others fight their respective opponents with Mark and Bonnie finished already and on their way to Heller who was fighting two.
During Chris' battle, Bonnie watched as the Brawler claw at her with both it's arms as she ducked and uppercutted it's head as it got dazed but then she released a fast barrage of punches at it's torso as it slowly and slowly got it's body caved in. After it got caved in, she also consumed it to get the Claws and went to help Heller.
Mark was surprised as one suddenly jumped at him as he blocked with both arms, causing a wound to appear on his arms but it quickly healed. The Brawler suddenly attacked him again as he ducked and grabbed the arm of the Brawler before he ripped it off and smashed it's head in with it, gained Claws. He then went to help Heller as well.
Arla was dodging the Brawler's attacks as she grabbed a car and threw it onto the Brawler, it exploded causing the Brawler to be thrown away as it slid across the ground, Arla then jumped as she stomped the Brawler on the ground in the head before the head exploded, she also managed to gain the Claws.
Heller was fighting two Brawlers as they kept managing to hit him, he was holding a Brawler's arm while the other was already charging at him, suddenly Mark comes in and kicks the Brawler charging at him away as he rips off the arm of the Brawler and his arms turn into Claws. He spreads his arms as he looked at the Brawler until he jumped toward it as he slashed with both hands, causing the Brawler to daze as Heller jumped and landed on it's shoulders and decapitated the head with his Claws.
"Guess whatever that Daniel guy said was true." Chris said after killing all the Brawlers. "Then it's possible the rest of what he said is true." Mark agreed. "Then let's go to hunt those infected he described." Bonnie suggested.
They then began exploring the Yellow zone searching for the infected.
