บท 40: Power Core
The energy was getting more and more turbulent as time passed. Rose was absorbing as much Prana as she could from the environment.
She accumulated Prana inside herself. Rose needed to gather enough Prana from the air, for it needed to be compressed into a spherical core known as a Power core. Only when the Power core is compacted can Level 1 be achieved.
The absorption process ended now it was time for the condensation. Rose successfully condensed the Prana into a core. It started revolving right after its creation. As Power core rotated, it leaked Prana, which in turn strengthened and improved Rose's body.
After some time, Rose's eyes opened. Everything was clearer, and the colors were brighter for her.
"Congratulation for reaching Level 1," Dev congratulated her.
She looked at him and smilingly replied, "Thanks."
"How big is your Power core?" Dev couldn't stop himself from asking this, even though it was rude. Only he knew what kind of freak she is going to become in the future? So, he was curious to discern the size of her newly generated Power core.
"Let me check," Rose didn't mind his rude question. She closed her eyes and searched for the core in the center of her heart.
"No Way!" She suddenly exclaimed.
Dev was shocked by the sudden exclamation. He nervously asked her, "What happened?"
"My Third eye chakra and Crown chakra opened on their own," She answered absentmindedly.
Dev's nerves relaxed hearing the answer. He congratulated her for this, "Congratulations, today seems a good day for you."
Rose didn't respond. She sits down in a meditative pose, closed her eyes, and started meditation. After few minutes, she opened her eyes.
"Mother, I have become level 1. I will avenge you soon," She murmured.
"Oh, it feels great to be a Level 1," She stood up and proclaimed loudly.
"What's the size of the Power core?" Dev asked her again.
"Jeez, What's your obsession with my Power core?" Rose scoffed in response.
"I want to know, tell me," Dev replied plainly and stared at her for her response.
"Alright, alright, I'll tell you," Rose raised her hands in the air to give up the question.
"It's white, and it's about of the size of a Walnut. Happy now?" She continued.
Dev was shocked to hear the size of the Power core. A Level 1 Power core of the size of a walnut, No one has that as far as Dev knew. And, he knew a lot. Since he had started Khandi's treatment, he has got access to his house library. The average known size of Level 1 Power core was not more than a peanut.
"What kind of a freak are you?" He exclaimed.
"Hee-hee," She laughed in response.
"Let's have an archery match now," Rose announced.
"Do you take me for a fool?" Dev scoffed.
"Why would I not take a fool for a fool?" She ridiculed.
"This fool defeated you in archery," Dev responded and walked off.
"Huh," Rose got stumped by Dev's answer as well as action.
They celebrated outside that night. Rose and the Dev also had discussions regarding their future plans and action. Dev couldn't leave Kajiya right now, as he is treating Khandi. So, they both decided just after Khandi's treatment is over, they'll depart for the jungle.
Time flew. Three months passed in a blink of an eye. Many things have changed during these three months, the significant elements being: Dev opening Solar plexus chakra, Lily successfully becoming beast by reaching Level 1, Khandi's situation has also improved, he hasn't gained consciousness, but the poison's potency has decreased.
Early morning, Dev left for Regina's house.
Regina was standing at the door when Dev reached her house.
"Good Morning," Dev wished her.
"Good Morning," Regina also responded smilingly. It has become their daily habit for the past couple of months.
"Has there been any new change in your father?" Dev asked her while making his way to Khandi's room.
"Yes, his fingers moved yesterday," Regina responded excitedly.
"Oh, good news," Dev nodded. They reached Khandi's room. His situation was completely different from the time when Dev started treatment. His whole hand has regained its color back.
"Chhiss…...chhisss," As Dev transferred Prana, Prana started burning the poison. His Prana has also become mightier and sturdier after the third chakra point opened.
"It's finished," Dev exclaimed after today's treatment was done.
"I'll come back tomorrow," Dev started making his way toward out.
"Okay, I'll be waiting," Regina responded cheerfully.
As Khandi's situation Improved, Regina also started returning to her old self, a cheerful, confident, and strong girl.
Dev made his way back toward the clinic. Unknown to him, someone was watching him from the dark.
"The Healer has left after an hour of treatment," The man in the dark spoke on his device.
"The Power Level of the Healer is unknown, but the Girl he regularly visits is a Level 1," The man said after some time of silence.
"Should I take action against her?" The man asked someone on his device.
"Okay," After few moments, the man in the dark responded.
He followed Dev to his clinic and situated himself there.
Unbeknownst to Dev, his future was uncertain. The stigma of being a healer prevented him from defeating his enemy, despite not knowing he made an enemy. As Khandi had been poisoned, how could Khandi's enemy allow him to be healed?
Lily was waiting for Dev in the clinic. There was finally a change in her size after years. She was still smaller than a regular kitten, but she was bigger than before.
Her food intake has increased since becoming a beast. However, Dev did not need to worry about it because Regina awarded him 1000 gold coins when Khandi's hand was free of poison.
Seeing Dev entering the clinic, Lili jumped on him. He caught her and kissed her on the head. In response, she licked him. The two of them played together. The play ended with him panting. He can no longer catch Lily due to her speed.
