Nazareth pulled a container of salt from the pack he carried with him, making a circle around Laci and Selina.
Laci jumped to her feet, her face twisted with confusion. “What are you doing?”
“I’d think that would be obvious,” he said, sealing off the circle. “We can’t permit Chaos to get to you two before we’re ready for her. Once I cast this spell, it’ll snap her back here fast. At that point, we’ll need to pull the Darkness through your friend.” He stood, staring at her. “You’ll have to do that, because I’m quite sure Chaos and I will be at odds right about then.”
“I told you, I can’t do that to her,” Laci snapped. “It’ll kill her.”
