The girl already knew that he was only there for her and not for anyone else and she was feeling grateful for at least having a separate prison or else her father would have hidden her behind his back and took the bullet for her.
What was a weird sight was that the assassin was not scared but hesitant of killing her and that means that he still had some humanity left which real assassins doesn't had.
