บท 57: The dread master

Empress Liah after Kahlan warned her left without saying a word. She silently disappeared through her portal. Just as she appeared, I came to the verandah as soon as Liah disappeared.

"Kahlan, I've been looking all over for you."

"Well, I'm right here." She said smiling.

"I thought you were with someone, I heard you talking."

"Oh yes. I was just appreciating the goddess of light for saving me from the hands of death. I also want to say thank you so much to you and lord Torren for everything you've ever done for me."

"There's no need for all that Kahlan. I'm your friend and you would have done the same, and besides we didn't do anything. Your recovery was quite mysterious."

"Of course my lady. And I promise to reward you all someday as you so deserve. Thank you." I held Kahlan in an embrace and took her to sit on her bed.

"I was scared Diana. Lord Torren would've been dead you know."

"What really happened back there?"
