บท 12: When The Past Knocks (Mature Content)
JiU smiled at the letter on her desk when she noticed whose handwriting it belongs to. The sender of the letter, a best friend to both Jiu and Tiffany, has a peculiar taste for the old fashion such as sending letters instead of sending emails from France where he is currently taking his Masters' Degree in Architecture. Tiffany always finds his ways so primitive while JiU thinks that it is quite a sweet and romantic thing. A friend she hadn't seen for almost 3 years since he had chosen to travel and study various architectural designs of the world before finally ending up choosing to take his masters' degree in France. Having finished college earlier than she did, he chooses to travel out into the world the second he got his chance. Even though they had to part ways, both Tiffany and JiU were very supportive of his decision. So, whenever he has the chance to contact them, he will send some letters to them. Excluding birthdays since he would take the time to video call one of his best friends. Tiffany and JiU share a strong bond with their best friend.
"Yah, come to my office," JiU tapped onto her desk's phone to call for Tiffany.
"Why?" Tiffany groaned as she replied. Since they are best friends, it has never been a problem if they behave as such when it is just between them, "I got tons of paperwork, that YOU gave, to finish."
"Aishhh... It's Changwook's letter!" JiU pointed out before lifting her finger from the phone. And in mere seconds Tiffany rushed into the room with a wide grin on her face.
"When did it arrive?" Tiffany stands right next to JiU almost immediately, "Haha... still with handwritten letter huh?"
"Cmon, be nice," JiU nudged Tiffany's waist before opening the letter carefully.
Dear JiU and Tiffany,
How are you both doing? Good? I hope so! A lot of things happened since the last time I sent you both my letter.
I am graduating soon, and I hope you both can attend the graduation but it's already over! Hahaha! I graduated 2 weeks ago!
With awesome honors as of the most exemplary in the major! I will be taking care of some papers first before finally making my trip back to Seoul.
I wish you both well and success for the company alright? I'll be seeing you both soon!

"Yah that crazy ass," Tiffany crossed her arms, "We're his two best friends and he didn't even include to invite us to his graduation???"
"Yah... come on," JiU carefully puts back the letter into the envelope and sets it back next to her notebook, "I'm he got his reasons and I'm sure he knows we are both busy at this time of year with the all the margin and the release of the new brand."
"Yeah, I know but I'm sure we can make time for his ass," she shakes her head and poked JiU's head, "You're seriously too nice with him."
"Yah... he is our best friend," JiU chuckled.
"I'll beat his ass for not inviting us," Tiffany made a fist and punched her open palm and ground her knuckles on her palm, "Then I'll give him a hug."
"Hahaha... yahh," JiU chuckled along with Tiffany before she looked onto her wristwatch and huffed air, "And we have a meeting in ten minutes."
With that reminder, the two best friends head for the meeting room with the board. Just like always, the moment they exit the office to move anywhere in the building, everyone present will always bow in greeting for their boss and her secretary. And in kind, the two ladies will bow their heads with smiles as they keep their pace of walk towards the meeting room. Once, they set foot into the room, all in attendance will stand in greeting for their boss until JiU asks them to sit back down.
The meeting proceeds very well and without a halt as JiU always liked it, but one set back about their oncoming partnership with a European company turns out to have quite the competition. JiU and Tiffany are quite surprised since two months ago, no one else, but they had made the deal to make such a meeting with the European company.
"We are all just as shocked ma'am," one of the board members pointed out towards her, "Months ago this company would have had no chance at all against us, but with their recent merge with Jun Constructions, they have strengthened their power."
"Who is our competitor then?" JiU leans forward from her seat, quite intrigued by the situation.
"Ju Ji Hoon's Ju Real Estate, ma'am," the board member says, "And it's now called Ju Real Estate & Constructions." The company, Ju Real Estate is already one of the world's biggest Real Estate agency and no it is paired with one of the world's leading construction companies in the world. The combination of two companies is quite a surprise since there has been no rumor or anything up in the air about such a partnership until now.
"How did you know this? And when did this happen?" Tiffany asks as she tapped the table, "It hasn't been announced anywhere and in any media."
"From an insider source, ma'am," another member of the board explains, "The merge was made around 3 days ago ma'am, but it was kept under wraps, until tomorrow when they will make the merging public to the world."
Hearing the name Ju stirred something in JiU as she suddenly becomes silent while the discussion is still happening on the table. She was quiet and flashes of memories came flooding back slowly. Tiffany, who noticed the change, quickly puts both her hands on JiU's shoulders, "JiU-ah.... hey hey you okay?" Tiffany looked at JiU in the eyes and squeezes her best friend's shoulder gently until there was a response.
JiU, who snapped out of her trance, looked at Tiffany and clasp her own hands over Tiffany's with a faint smile curving on her lips, "I'm fine now don't worry, okay?"
"You sure?" Tiffany knelt in her heels to get a better look at her best friend as she gently caresses her best friend's hand.
JiU only nodded with a smile that she had to force out even though she isn't as ok as she says. The moment she hears his name, things changed in her mind and all her demeanor. Even his name is enough to stir something within JiU that brings her back to one night almost two years ago. It was a week after she had called off her wedding with the man she thought will be the only man she will have ever loved.

2 Years Ago
Yet another call from her ex-fiance, she had rejected. No matter how much she had felt heartbroken and betrayed, she still gave her time to talk to Ju Ji Hoon at his place about what he had done that had caused the ending of their relationship and wedding. The reaction from Ju Ji Hoon was too much and over the top, as he grabs both her wrists and tried to apologize in such a forceful manner. She was in too much of a shock to respond since she had never seen this side of him before until now. For the first time in her life, JiU had never felt such fear when with a man. He was apologizing and tightening his grip onto her wrists that it started to hurt. He was overpowering her as he keeps apologizing and how it was a mistake that he did. And again she had refused his rather aggressive approach until something snapped in him.
He starts to turn her around and pressing her against a wall in such a rough manner. Pinning her front to the wall as he also pressed his front onto hers. His weight on her body was too much to bear that she can't do anything anymore. "You're mine, Kim Minji," he uttered her name in such obsessive and eerie tone of a whisper when he leans forward to whisper in her ear.
What he did next was even more shocking as he roughly tries to hike up her skirt, ignoring her pleas. Tears welling up in her eyes were no effect as he roughly continues his advances onto her. Hiking up her skirt while he also pulls down his pants till it pools on his legs. "You're going to enjoy this baby," he chuckled eerily as gropes her.
On instinct, JiU snapped her head back and hit him square on the nose with the back of her head. He groaned in pain and staggered backward to fall on his due to the pants that pooled under his legs. JiU, seeing what she had accomplished, took no time, and made for the door. She grabbed her purse and ran out without her shoes. She races through the hallway for the elevator until she bumped into someone. It was Tiffany and two of her bodyguards.
"Yah! Can you watch....." Tiffany halted herself when she noticed who she bumped into, "JiU?" Tiffany's eyes were wide with shock seeing her best friend's condition. Smeared makeup, disheveled clothes, and face filled with fear. She had never seen her friend like this, her heart broke at the sight. "What happened? Who did this to you?"
Tiffany helped JiU to stand, and hugged her tight, "Who did this to you?" Tiffany caressed her best friend's back gently as she sobbed, "It's Ji Hoon isn't it?" Judging by her friend's quiet demeanor, she looked at her two bodyguards, "Get him."
JiU gripped Tiffany's shoulders, "Please, I just want to go home," in-between sobs, she whispered to her best friend, "Please..."
"KIM MINJI!!!" Ji Hoon's voice can be heard booming through the halls of the apartment building. The moment his voice is heard, JiU gripped Tiffany's shoulder even tighter.
"Please, Fany-ah, I want to go home," JiU, almost pleads.
"Alright, let's go," she holds her best friend steady as they walk towards the nearest elevator to escape from the hallway of horrors as Ji Hoon kept screaming JiU's maiden name.

JiU stands up from her seat and addressed the board, "We will keep pursuing this," her tone firm and sure, "We been after this for over a year, and I will not let a new merger company come between our goal for the company's break at Europe."
The way she addressed the team with such confidence stirred the same atmosphere to her board member as they all stand and bow in agreement to her decision. With that decision, the meeting included along with everything that needed discussing. JiU sits back down onto her chair as Tiffany dragged her chair to sit next to JiU. She caresses her best friend's head with eyes full of concern, "How are you holding up?"
JiU sighs as she leans on her seat while looking at her concerned friend, "I'll be fine," she took Tiffany's hand into hers and smiles, "Thank you for always being there for me when I needed you."
"Aishh... you don't need to thank me," she chuckled, but her once kind smile turned into a smirk, "Although, there is a way you can repay this very nice and caring best friend of yours."
JiU rolled her eyes and scoffed, "Aigoo... this woman, you're a leech you know that?"
"A pretty and sexy leech?" Tiffany wiggled both eyebrows as they both laughed softly at their antiques.
"Alright then, what do you want?" JiU leans her elbow on the big table as she looks at her best friend, "Anything you want, just for today, I'll do it."
"Yayyy... Hmmm lemme think," Tiffany tapped her fingers on her chin before finally smiling, "You know there is this new restaurant opening in Gangnam right?"
"Thought so," JiU shakes her head, "Kaja! We haven't had our lunch yet" JiU stands and takes Tiffany by the arm as they both exit the meeting room to go to the place that Tiffany had mentioned.
