Days had passed. Once Angel had received the news from Frost that all the preparation was completed, he took Rose to Zephyrus. Aside from settling everything between himself and the rebels, he also wanted to settle the agreement between him and Rose to king Eudon.
The sun was shining brightly above their heads when they arrived in Scarlet Stone Castle's yard.
Once the carriage stopped, Angel and Rose got off of it. Before them, Frost and King Eudon had stood to greet them in front of Scarlet Stone Castle entrance.
King Eudon nodded politely.
"Angelus, welcome to Zephyrus."
While Frost simply bowed his head to greet them.
"Thank you for welcoming us," said Angel in a formal tone.
King Eudon turned his gaze to Rose. He looked very happy to be able to see his niece again.
"Rose, how are you?" he greeted. There was a clear trace of guilt in the tone of his voice. He knew he had sold Rose to Angel for the sake of this kingdom and it tortured him. He realized that he had stepped that low because he wanted to redeem his fault.
"I'm fine uncle, thank you," said Rose with a happy smile. She missed her home and her uncle badly so she couldn't cover her happiness.
"Looks like Angelus has treated you well," King Eudon said. He thought Rose would look grim or sad after all that happened, but it turned out that he was wrong. She looked happy and he knew it was genuine. It surprised him.
Rather than Rose, it was Angel who answered him.
"Don't worry, I will never mistreat her," said Angel while gazing gently at Rose. He usually never wanted to show his affection this boldly, but this was according to his plan and Rose also knew it. So they would act as they should act as the love birds that were crazy in love with each other. They had to make sure that Ivetta would make her move without fail.
"Yes, he treats me very well," Rose said as she leaned her head on Angel's chest. It was a bold and embarrassing act for her, but she decided to do it although Angel didn't request it.
Realizing Rose's intention, Angel responded to her by hugging her waist and smiling. Their hearts beat fast. It was the intimacy that they wanted but did it in front of this many people, it wasn't like them. They felt like a couple of teenagers who were just falling in love and it felt so wrong.
Frost, who already knew Angel's plan from the beginning, was holding his laugh desperately and putting on his best poker face. It was so funny since he knew Angel didn't like to show any intimacy openly like this yet Angel had to do it for his own plan. Frost knew it was killing Angel from the inside and he tried to hide his embarrassment as best as he could.
Their intimacy made King Eudon wrinkle his forehead in confusion. It felt like the couple in front of him wasn't the real Angel and Rose. But he quickly guessed that Angel was planning something so he decided to find out about it more.
"How about we continue our talk inside?" said King Eudon as he invited them in.
"Very well," answered Angel without further ado.
They walked in with Angel's arm still on her waist. Everyone's eyes were on the royal couple. Occasionally, they exchanged glances as if they were the happiest couple in the world. While both of them felt nervous about all of this. Indeed they wanted this, but not in public like this.
They walked down the corridor to the parlor room. As soon as the room's door was closed and King Eudon ordered all the servants to leave, Angel released his hug. His expression returned to cold, his typical usual expression.
"Have you prepared the report?" said Angel to King Eudon without further, trying to cover his embarrassment with the work.
Rather than King Eudon, it was Rose who answered it.
"You surely turn your expression quickly, Angelus," she glanced at him.
