บท 36: Book 1 : Chapter 36 Sherbet Lemon

November 2nd

I sat upright on the sofa, my hand on my stomach. Leo was in the kitchen cooking but the last thing I can imagine doing right is eating. My stomach was far too full of nerves.

"You should try eating something," Leo said, placing a plate of garlic bread and meatballs in front of me, "you need your strength."

I shook my head.

"I can't," was all I said.

He sighed, "you've hardly eaten all day and you're eating for-"

"Eating for two now. Yes, I know, Leo," I snapped.

I instantly swallowed and glanced down at the floor.

"I'm sorry I can't give you the joyful reaction you were hoping for," I said.

Another tear dropped down my cheek.

"It's okay," he replied, crouching down and taking my hand, "but if we aren't going to celebrate, we sure as hell aren't going to mourn. So chin up and let's take your mind off it."

He then wiped my cheek with his thumb.

"How does that sound?" He asked.

I smiled and nodded but I couldn't stop more tears falling.
