Harry always knew as a Potter, he had a sizeable fortune to his name. Just his trust vault had more money than most earn throughout their lives. But he never cared about money.
Only when he was desperate, searching for some way to save Sirius, he came to know his fortune was plundered, divided between Goblins and the Ministry.
But looking down at the transaction details, he realized he had been lied to, again.
Harry sat in the living room, dozens of files sprawling in front of him. Emma sat opposite him, looking uncomfortable. These were all the files Kent and his team were able to track about the mysterious group in the past couple of months.
The moment Emma had said about what his ancestral money was being used for, Harry nearly blew up the house.
He may not know his parents but he knew that stood against Voldemort to do what they believed was right, for what was fair. His father became an Auror despite it being far beneath his station, and her mother chose to fight for a society that viewed her as subhuman at best. It was in part due to this Harry felt guilt for leaving the Wizarding World, he ran away where his parents choose to stay and fight.
But to know that the money that his parents left was being used to support war crimes, he just could not stand for it. And he may not know his parents, but he knew that his parents fought in a war and died protecting their child, would not wish the same fate on children of some else.
And he who had lived a life of an orphan, not knowing love and comfort of a family; to have his birthright being used to make more orphans.
He was not going to allow that.
So here he was, searching through the files to get a clue on who this shadow group is. Someone who had the power and influence to affect multiple third-world country governments, someone who was able to get their claws into the Potter fortune. The other party is magical but who?
While he was thinking, Kyle came out of the room, looking a little disoriented.
"Hey, what are you doing here?", he shouted at Emma.
She glared at him but did not say anything. Harry did not notice, too engrossed in his thoughts. Seeing the tense atmosphere, Kyle wisely decided to shut up.
"These accounts, you were not able to trace them further?", Harry asked, pointing at a string of numbers.
"Yes, most of the proxies and shell companies funnel money back into these accounts. Kent seemed sure these accounts were the last set of proxies that our mystery group used. But that is the problem, these accounts did not even seem to exist", Emma said.
Harry nodded, he did not know a lot about banking systems but he did a quick study while figuring out how to use the Philosopher's stone.
That is why he was able to understand the stuff Emma was talking about, at least most of it. He still had trouble wrapping his head around the more intricate details thought.
"The trail just ends here, and we had no idea where it goes from there."
"Yes."
Harry leaned back, deep in thought. He had a good idea who...or rather what this ghost group was.
But the question was,...was he ready to go back to the magical world?
Emma and Kyle watched as Harry just sat there, deep in thought. They did not move to disturb him, opting to quietly wait for him to speak.
Harry just sat there for what felt like hours, thinking,... pondering his future course of action.
"Emma Frost right,... If I am not wrong, you can read minds", Harry questioned Emma out of nowhere.
She jerked, sitting up before answering, "Yea...yes, I am a telepath."
"How confident are you in reading a non-human brain."
"Non-human?"
"Yes, similar astral signature but different biological structure", Harry asked, only to get a blank look from Emma.
Sighing, he explained again, "You are still looking for the ghost group are you not?", he continued after getting a nod from Emma, "I may know who they are but to do so, I require a piece of information from a special group of...individuals."
"But they will never give me any information on their own. Your skills can help, and the information I want is the same as the information you want."
Emma looked distinctively uncomfortable. Seeing that, Harry continued,
"You have no need to do in-depth mind reading, just surface scans would suffice."
Kyle looked a little out of it, mouthing the word 'telepath' to Harry. Harry shook his head, reassuring Kyle before turning back to Emma.
"I...I can try. I was able to detect your owl, so an inhuman mind should not be much of a problem."
"Well then", Harry sat up, "Get ready, we are going to the Wizarding Bank."
"Aaa...What?"

Commissioner White entered the interrogation room and sat opposite the convict. Tonks was still out there, obliviating those who witnessed the stone statue event but it was far out of control. Too many pictures and an online presence, so the feasible way was to turn it into a mutant incident. And how that left a bad taste in his mouth, throwing wizards mistakes on Mutants.
But he banished such thoughts and began the standard procedure for interrogation.
"So, Kent Smith, you have been quite naughty."
The convict just smiled at White, but choose to stay mum.
"Multiple cases of assault, possession of illegal firearms, trespassing; a tad too bold in for being in a foreign county, don't you think? Enough for me to throw you in a cell and forget the key."
Kent looked at him, "Commissioner, it's cute you think you can even keep us till evening. "
White did reply, instead opting to pick a file and reading off it.
"December 20, evening, your men broke into 4 privet drive, interrogated and broke all four limbs of Veron and Dudley Dursley, as well as gravely injuring Petunia Dursley."
Kent replied, still smiling, "Neither I nor my men did anything you are accusing me of."
Just then the door opened and Auror Tonks entered the room, holding two cups of coffee. The White did not say, as she took the seat beside him.
"So you are Kent Smith," Tonks said, barely controlling her emotions from changing her hair colors, "Why did you break into the 4th Privet Drive and assault Dursleys?"
"I did no such thing", Kent said, but her smile screamed, 'yes that was us, what can you do about it?'
Tonks never had good emotional control, and she was among very few who genuinely got to know Harry during her guard duty at the Leaky Cauldron. Even during that short time together, he left a deep impression on her, so different from a happy boy who used to laugh at her rainbow hair when he was a toddler before his parents died.
So when she heard Harry Potter was missing, she was beyond distressed. On graduating from Auror cadet, she badgered her boss to put her on the Harry Potter case, only to be denied.
And now she found that some jackass muggle hurt Harry's family, she was beyond pissed.
"You know what, F*** the standard procedure." She cocked her fist and punched Kent straight in his face. The ever satisfying crunch of nose breaking under her fist did little to abate her fury.
The Kent was nearly sent flying but the handcuff kept him colliding in the wall. Even the table to which he was handcuffed was fell over. The strength behind Tonks punch was far more than she would usually be capable of, a little trick she learned while experimenting with Harry.
Kent fell to the ground, disoriented, confused, and in a world of pain. He had no idea why this violent woman attacked him out of nowhere.
"Comishener please record the confession." She walked out to the fallen convict and out of the view of the camera, took out a small dropper, and put three drops in Kent's mouth.
"Now, why did you break into Dursley's home?"
"To find information on Harry Potter.", Under the effect of Veritaserum, Kent answered monotonously.
"Why you wanted Harry?"
"Boss wanted Harry Potter to get to Potter accounts. He wanted some deal and find a ghost group and he was our only lead."
Tonks frowned, this was not something she imagined. She was taking a great risking using Veritaserum, for it was very illegal to be used outside of court.
"Did you find him?" Tonks asked, more out of desperation than hope.
"Yes."
"Where?"
"At the Book Store, just before I froze. He was the one who turned me into stone."
