The liquid that had been in the goblet reminded him of makgeolli with a few drops of black food coloring added in, giving it a slightly light-gray tinge. A rather apt comparison when he considered what he found in the so-called drink that Harloch wanted him to imbibe.

Mattheus leaned back in the sole armchair in his lab. The glass flask he had poured the mysterious liquid into from where he had originally stored it within his Inventory was a distance away. It was visible as it sat innocuously on the table but there was a gaping chasm of space between the transmigrator and the liquid itself.

"Mattheus, you are not asleep yet," Brunilda remarked as she climbed in through the window.

"Did everything go well?" Mattheus only looked away from the contents of the flask after voicing his question. He turned to stare as the cat slinked into his sight.
