The room was shrouded in darkness, and Nesrin was lying on her belly as she blankly gazed at the empty space. She can't remember what happened after she fainted, but when her eyes opened, she was tucked inside the blankets and was upon the small wooden bed with a harsh mattress.
It seemed like that room must have belonged to knights or servants because it was too plane and very small. No furniture was there, but a small bedside table with medicines and a jug of water.
Nesrin tried to fill her thoughts with such irrelevant thoughts, she tried to wonder if anyone would come to visit, or when they would be allowed to leave, or if Johanna had thought about her.
She tried to think of anything, anything that can distract her mind from those raw scars that burned deep on her skin and grazed even the most resilient part of her soul.
Was it too reckless? to hide such a secret?
Was it a right decision?
