The next day, Zeir and Agatha prepared for their departure from Kalas. Hamza followed them to the edge of the village. He stopped near the broken fence, leaning against it and smiling.
"Now that Kalas is free of those abominations, there is no need for me to leave," Hamza said. "I'll remain here and try to rebuild what was lost. You two go and bring back as many as you can. Hopefully, Kalas will be in better shape by the time you come back."
"Are you sure?" Agatha asked, turning to Hamza. "There are so many creatures lurking on Elytreea that can come and overwhelm a single human. You'll be safer with us."
"Kalas is where I was born and grew up." Hamza groaned and encircled himself with his arms. "It is my responsibility to restore everything around here, and I plan to do so. Furthermore, your endeavor appears to be considerably riskier than mine." He took a deep breath. Hamza continued after Agatha nodded. "Please tell Gerlinda that I am waiting for her."
