Seeing that they didn't answer, William knew that they didn't want to leave the safe camping bus. It was to be expected since it would be much saver inside the camping bus rather than roaming around on the street.
But this couldn't do.
He needed them to accompany him.
"Gloria, you come with me."
"Ok."
There was only a succinct and short reply from the young girl. Yakov's face darkened when he saw his best friend looked in his direction.
"You want me to protect the others?"
"To be exact, I want you to be the driver. Sienna, you can watch the surroundings by making use of Gloria's laptop and told us when the gang members make a move. Rozan, I want you to protect the other two."
"Me?" Rozan rubbed his short beard again. It was an action that he kept on doing whenever he was thinking. "Do you really want this old man to protect these two?"
"You're not that old yet, Old Man Rozan," Yakov complained.
William nodded. "Do you know how to use gun?"
"Just a bit."
"Then it should be enough. If necessary, Yakov will shoot while driving."
Yakov: "…" why do you have such a high expectation to me? Though, it would be a lie if he said that such incident hadn't happened before. If they were truly in a pinch, they needed to improvise.
Rozan nodded, accepting his new mission. "Got it, then. I'll make sure to protect these two properly."
"Good."
Sienna sat on the table while Gloria opened the surveillance camera once more. She pointed to several of them on the screen. "These are the ones that you need to pay attention to. The gang members might come from either one of these."
"How do you still manage to connect this?"
"Also, you won't be able to see anything without Wi-Fi, so when you start to depart, you'll lose all connection," Gloria added again. She was making use of the Wi-Fi that was still working in Rozan's house. When it ran out, she knew for sure that they wouldn't be able to use it anymore.
Besides, to be able to connect to the internet required the service provider. Well, since the space would be empty, could she manipulate it to a certain degree to give them internet? That would be very interesting to try.
But that would be for the future.
"Done?" William asked as he prepared his guns. At the same time, he brought his metal bat since it would be better if he could not use the guns. Gloria also had a small handgun that William gave to her a few days prior.
Gloria nodded. "Yes."
"Follow me closely."
"Ok."
At this time, the sky was still very dark, so there was also no one roaming around except for some Xermo around. As they were approaching the main street, one Xermo noticed their presence and pounce over.
William side stepped to the side and raised his right hand.
Bam! Thwack! Peng!
The metal bat mercilessly pummeled the Xermo. It might be dark, but William knew that the Xermo was wounded hard thanks to his attack. It only took a few hits until the Xermo fell on the ground with a loud thud.
"Let's move."
"En."
William continued to move and pummeled a few more Xermo. Gloria was standing still by the side with her gun ready. She was still not used to this situation, but she knew that it was necessary.
They didn't take a long time before they reached the convenience store.
"Wait here."
Opening the door, William noticed that a few more chips disappeared. Probably the gang members only knew about the food outside and not the one in the storage room. It was a good news for him.
He used wire to open the door to the storage room and noticed that there were still a lot of items there.
Taking his walkie talkie out, William contacted Sienna. "Ask Yakov to drive now."
"Ok."
Different from William and Gloria, Yakov would need to drive the camping bus using the main road. It meant that there would be higher chance for them to meet with the gang's members, but it was also the only route a camping bus could possibly pass.
"There are a lot that we can take out," Gloria muttered. Her eyes were locked onto the gallons. There were at least 24 gallons of water there. A gallon contained 19 liters of water, and human required around 3-4 liters per day. It meant that they would be able to last for 24 days as long as they conserve the water.
"There should be enough space in the camping bus…" William muttered.
Gloria nodded. There was storage room below the car that Rozan made aside from the one at the back. The one at the back was already filled with spare tires and many other metals that they might need. However, they would be able to use the others inside the camping bus to fill with food and waters.
"There's not many canned food, so I guess we'll eat a lot of biscuits and instant noodles?" Gloria asked as she pointed to the boxes filled with instant noodles.
"Don't forget to take pot or pan so that we can boil water."
"Ok."
Rummaging through the items at the storage, it was mostly filled with food. For them, it was good news since what they needed the most was precisely food.
Just as they began to bring everything out, William heard faint rustling from the side and raised his gun.
"Who's there?"
